That penalty on the hit to the bears WR was bullshit. That was clean.

The roughing the QB by today's standards I guess was roughing since there was contact with the helmet. But back when football was actually still football, that was a good clean hit. Still should be.

That hit on the WR was absolutely textbook so I'm not sure what they saw there.

As for the hit on the QB, there's helmet to helmet contact but the guy has no intention to directly hit him with his helmet. It's just another of many examples where helmets inadvertently make contact and I don't know how referees expect players running at full speed and ducking their head as they're instructed to, to somehow not to make said inadvertent contact like that.

That's a big mistake by the Bears.

They should have instructed the kicker to get a touchback there because at least they get the 2 min warning.

By allowing the return, they just lost a huge tine-saving opportunity.
