I don't think bust would be the right word.

But I can see where his decision making can get him in trouble.

For a backup though, I think he'll be ok.

Hopefully we won't need him.
He is going to be raw. No question about that. But physically he can make those crazy highlight plays which should be fun. For a backup I think in a real game during the season. You go basic and highly designed plays. Lots of read options with quick easy passing reads. Take advantage of the athletic talent. We all know that gets exposed over time but we have also seen it work extremely well for some QBs even as rookies right out of the gate.

Yeah I think faux Bipo is confusing Allen with Bobby Taylor. That's the guy they drafted to match up with Irvin.
Shit that’s right, it WAS Bobby Taylor.

13/20 120 yards is a totally different QB?

That translates to 65% completion percentage and 6 YPA. Against fringe at best competition last night in a meaningless game.

With us, he had a 61% completion percentage and 6.5 YPA against legit pros in actual games when defenses are game planning and scheming and whatnot.
He looked completely different in the pocket last night as a QB vs what I saw out of him under McCarthy.
And the way Harbaugh was acting around him it looks like he might see something there that others have missed. Doesn’t mean I think the kid is the next Joe Montana but he may be a serviceable backup to Herbert if Harbaugh keeps working with him.

I think Milton is a bust. From what I've seen -- and people at camp have said the same -- he makes some spectacular throws but he makes some really bad ones, too. Plus bad reads and bad decisions. He holds the ball a lot and runs too much. And we know that won't work at this level.

Nate Newton was asked about him and said there were two players he refused to call by name until they showed anything: 58 and 10.
But yet Dakota does the exact same shit and there’s some people here still swinging from the guys nutsack.

This wouldn't shock me at all. I could see him going full Colin Kaepernick offense with him in there and it could work for a coach like Harbaugh.

Dak is kind of the opposite of that actually. People constantly think he should run more (which I don't really agree with). And throughout his career he mostly hasn't been aggressive enough rather than too aggressive.

Even that only was "working" for a short time. It's actually fairly typical of running QBs prior to the league adjusting to him. Hence Kap getting benched towards the end of Harbaugh's tenure. It was all smoke and mirrors and that's always a temporary fix.

How dare you disparage the upcoming Milti Era.

The running part I agree with, I’ve said many times I always thought Dak settled into a game much quicker and seemed to throw the ball better if he ran the ball a few times to start the game.

But his biggest weakness is not seeing the entire field and throwing the WTF passes.

Yeah, which is why I mention it in the breath of being a good backup. I think it's easier to do that stuff over the short run but not the long run. In no way do I think Lance will ever be a good NFL starting QB.

And frankly I have some of the same thoughts with Milton. Except I think he is more athletic and has a bigger arm than Lance.

He will always take the open pass and rarely creates an opening or throws the more dangerous aggressive shot
