Previous year sure but this season Dak has been playing insane.

None of these names are really interesting to me. Maybe Quinnen Williams.
Williams and Simmons are basically the same caliber of player, I'd give up a 1 for either of them.

Clark is still really solid in my opinion and deserves a good number of snaps, but with a stud like Williams or Simmons we could ease his workload and probably get more out of him.

I am not so certain they would target the interior for a big trade. They would much rather look smarter by getting another edge.

Agreed, I'm just saying if you're interested in Williams you should be interested in Simmons, and that if it were me I'd be interested in either.

Wouldn't usually post these, but my God, if only we all had 1/100 of this guy's attitude.

And it isn't Bull Durham media speak, you can tell he means it.

He's a stud, just need him to stay healthy.

If we can count on this guy to be healthy the defense could turn around very quickly next year if they add a few of the right pieces.

Was thinking about that earlier. If he can get through this year intact (big if), and I think James will probably be an at least solid-enough LB after an offseason in an NFL weight room, especially as young as he is... maybe we don't need as many LBs as we might have thought next year?

Same. I've been very critical of him at times but he has clearly "leveled up," if you will. He's making much better decisions with the ball and trusting his receivers. Zero complaints.

I actually think Simmons is better than Williams. If you're looking for pass rush help dude is leading all NFL DT's in pass rush win rate. Simmons is absolutely the better pass rushing interior guy right now.

Not trying to take anything away from Williams who might be a better run stuffer, but just in terms of, this team needs pass rushers, Simmons is right now playing at the highest level in the NFL at his position. I'd still happily take either guy on the team. And Williams has a history of pass rush production so it's not like he is a stick in the mud at it or anything. And frankly Williams would make more sense in terms of the connection to our D-line coach and my assumption that his quirky personality may give the Jets more motivation to trade him. But I think I'd put Simmons on a slightly higher level.

By the way funny fact and maybe a reason why we should all throw "pass rush win rate" in the trash despite my use of it to show how good Jeffrey Simmons is. I was looking at the pass rush win rate at DE and guess who is higher than Parsons and Myles Garrett...

Now I'll say the guy gets far less attention from offenses in terms of blocking. But they actually have Dante Fowler winning 24% of his pass rushes compared to Garrett and Parsons at 23%. Now Fowlers gets less attention and has few snaps than those guys. So you'd expect an easier path to wins for him, he is fresher and dealing with fewer chips. But still, kind of shocking. I know Fowler has been looking better as of late but I wouldn't have guessed him being on that list.

There's zero chance I believe Fowler is anywhere close to that. He's been pretty invisible most of the year.
