He's obviously one of the top 3, which is why he was the guy to go in when Steele and Guyton went out.

But yea, I think he really might be the best one if he can maintain that level of play over a large sample. He locked up Gary and Van Ness pretty well a few times, Parsons was the only one who gave him trouble really.
What you really notice about him is that no one runs through him or knocks him back. Its like hitting a brick wall. You might be able to run around him but it really limits options when pass rushing against him.

They're definitely not letting him walk.
Mixed feelings. Good/Great player. Don't want to waste a third. But I think you look at a team with a retard front office like Cincy that has 2 high paid WRs and QB while neglecting the trenches and you see what happens. On the other hand, Detroit pays everyone it seems.

And I think we all know which direction these tards lean in front office skills.

I agree, I think if/when he's extended it'll be a love/hate relationship, because our passing game will be dynamic with him and Lamb but I feel like Pickens is a ticking time bomb until he does something stupid/airheaded with a penalty or a drop.

I think the Parsons trade will allow us to offset some of the concerns about building the defense/trenches, as long as the Retard Carnival doesn't go braindead.

I think part of the logic behind making the deal was that we needed extra resources to bring in young talent around Dak's bloated contract, so that we can spread some of the talent out as opposed to having it all concentrated around Dak/Lamb/Parsons.

paid WRs and QB while neglecting the trenches
We don't neglect the trenches. We use the vast majority of our draft capital in the trenches. It's actually other positions that we neglect in the draft. WR? We barely draft them compared to most teams. RBs? We have to rank last in the NFL in drafting them since Zeke. QB? Jesus, haven't taken one high in the draft since Quincy Carter? If you want to call a second round pick high for a QB. On the other hand we have drafted DT's, DEs, and O-line very frequently in the first and second round. We just have sucked at hitting on the D-lineman outside of Parsons and we have done very well on the O-line.

People want to pretend that we are corner whores. But reality is we don't use much draft capital at that position either. Last time we picked on in the first round? Long time ago. Diggs was a second rounder what 5 years ago? And heck most of the corners we drafted in the second and third rounds are still in the NFL and playing well outside of Bossman.

Funny money to real front offices like Detroit and Philly.

Cap is an excuse not to spend for tards like Dallas and Cincy.
This is 100% true. Ultimately the NFL is a business. And seeing the Eagles owner have to chip away at his ownership percentage to be able to afford the bonus money to pay guys is why guys like Jerry Jones ultimately love the salary cap. That dude wants the excuse to not have to spend money.

If we let him walk, I’d say there’s a good chance we get the 3rd back in compensation

For the record, as of right now (yes it's a small sample size) Pickens is on pace for 89 / 1275 / 17.

(Lamb was on pace for 136 / 1887 / 0 after the first 2 games.

After 2 games (ie. the full games with Lamb healthy), Pickens was on pace for 68 / 833 / 9.)

I mean Pickens is going to rack up more yards and catches with Lamb out. But that chemistry will probably also carry over once Lamb is back. So it wouldn't surprise me if Pickens ends up with that type of a season. Which means if he hits free agency he is likely the top WR in free agency and probably one of the best free agents in the NFL. So yeah, we probably do get a third round comp pick back in 2027. Personally I'd rather keep the guy around because no third round WR is giving us that type of production more than likely.

If he's consistent and still making plays week in and week out come November, the Cowboys would be wise to start talks with his agent then.
