So besides the Walker trade basically the highest price ever paid for a player in a trade?

You might as well just say you wouldn't consider trading him.

Three 1's and a player, depending on the type of player, I could see. Throwing in 2's on top of that is never going to happen.

I added literally 1 first round pick to what we're already suggesting and suddenly you think it's unconscionable?

Micah is a perpetual defensive MVP candidate at probably the most important defensive position. Yes the compensation to acquire him should be very high.

Yea I think going from two 1's to three 1's is kind of a big deal, if we can get it, great, but it'd be shocking given the recent history of trades for elite players (Mack and Ramsey primarily).

I think we should be getting more than either of those teams but three 1's, two 2's and a borderline Pro Bowler like Gary would be way more.

By the way this part is not true.

For example the Eric Dickerson trade was 3 firsts, 3 seconds, plus multiple players.

Mack and Ramsey primarily

Neither are as good as Parsons (Ramsey not even close).

With Mack, the Bears were coming off a 5 win season the year before and historically have been fairly consistently picking pretty high, and I'm assuming their picks were regarded as pretty premium.

This is the argument I've been making all along, that the GB picks aren't that valuable in a vacuum.

Im not for trading him at all.

Even with all of that capital it will be wasted with this front office so might as well just enjoy Parsons wreak havoc on defense. Will just be disappointed otherwise.

Keep in mind I'm specifically talking about GB, whose picks I don't covet a whole lot because I suspect they'd be low.

Different story with a bunch of other teams. GB isn't the only team that'd be interested, I'm sure.

Jets and Colts aren't gonna mortgage their future for a non-QB. They'll need all the ammo they can to move up if necessary.

That's what set the precedent for the Walker trade, which is why Lynn wasn't totally high in considering that kind of compensation for Walker. He just needed to get on the same page as his retarded coach, Jerry Burns, and actually decide to run Walker.

I will say.... while I think Jerry needs to cut the shit in regards to negotiating without agents present...

... $40m for 5 years versus $45m for 5 years is a difference between $200m and $225m.

I wouldn't let that difference be the breaking point between me and the team I preferred to play for.

There's literally nothing you can do with $225m that you can't do with $200m.

His endorsements will make up for that in Dallas versus Green Bay.

Sources: Cowboys appear open to Micah Parsons trade offers

This part seems especially interesting and would track with some of the stuff we've heard about 4 years vs. 5: Jones believes the Cowboys had an agreement with Parsons on a five-year extension that averaged $40.5 million per season, per league sources.
And agent supposedly went batshit because he wanted a 3 year deal so Parsons could have another shot at big money in his prime.

It's clearly a pissing match at this point.

40.5/year makes sense because it's barely above what the Browns gave Garrett, and the conversations supposedly happened before the Watt deal a month or so ago that was 41/year.

I'm sure if Jerry and the agent kissed and made up they could easily work something out between 40.5-42/year, either at 4 or 5 years, but they're both stubborn assholes and Parsons has let himself get worked into a shoot, so he might find himself playing for the 6-11 Raiders in a week.

Bottom line it.....

An 80 year old miserable fucking cunt tried to take advantage of a young player without his agent present. Agent has recent hx of working out 3 year deals for stars in their prime, so of course he's going to be mad. Agent probably told him how Jerry is potentially costing him millions of dollars by signing a 5 yr contract instead of being able to work out another one while still 29-30 yrs old. So now Parsons mad too.

Not sure Jerry's age is the difference. He just paid Dak and CeeDee fortunes the last couple of years.

I do think it's sorry that Jerry and Micah can pretty much agree on a huge contract - not like the player was getting screwed here - and the agent can convince Micah how he was getting screwed, "The Man" was taking advantage of him, etc.

I think Jerry, as despicable as he is in most ways, is right that he'd care about Micah for most of the rest of his life, like he has Irvin and Emmitt and Tony and most of his players. David Mulugheta just cares about his rep as Mr Superagent.
