Yea but Gary is also a Pro Bowler, if it was a worse team I wouldn't need as many picks if we were also getting a youngish Pro Bowler.
Yeah the hope is Gary plus the picks allows you to build a complete defense as opposed to a defense heavily reliant on Parsons being dominant.

13. Dallas Cowboys
Caleb Banks, DT, Florida
The Cowboys enter the 2025 season looking to right some of the wrongs from their forgettable 2024. One big area of concern is the interior defensive line. Their porous run D (4.8 yards allowed per carry, tied for third worst) cannot continue if they want to keep contending in the NFC. Banks could help fix it. He has outstanding size at 6-foot-6 and 330 pounds, but he also displays the quickness and power to be a disruptive interior rusher. He began his career at Louisville, but his best college season came in 2024, when he had 4.5 sacks for the Gators -- including 2.5 in his dominant game against Ole Miss.

Eberflus loves length/height at DT so I could see him really liking Banks.

But yea, going DT in the first seems unlikely in general unless it's a blatantly obvious pick.

He is also predicted at 13 and if its somebody that we want he is going to have a good year. That will raise that pick even higher.

Sure but we all know these mocks aren't truly indicative of how things will play out almost a year from now.

I'm just saying Banks fits the mold of a guy Eberflus seems to like at DT, whether that's at 11, 15 or 20.

I think the only things I can say for certain about next year's class is that Peter Woods and Caleb Downs will be two of the top 3-5 non-QB's in the class, and Jeremiyah Love will be the top RB, barring injuries.

Love is a badass. Interested to see what he does this year.

For sure.

Keldric Faulk is another guy I think Eberflus would love, kind of a DE/DT tweener at like 6-6, 280, but I could see him being a nice fit as a base DE/nickel interior rusher who brings that length on the interior that Eberflus wants.

Sounds David Irving-like, all for it.

I'd rather just draft a pure stud DT. We don't need another undersized DT or a tweener.

For nearly 15 years now they've been killing it drafting OL.

You give the GM and executives another 10 years to figure this shit out and they'll probably start drafting stud DL.

Maybe they should just keep drafting OL and move them to DL?

Some sloppy editing. They made it sound like Jerry signed Deion before K Smith's injury.

Ridiculous that she comes to some of those conclusions. Does Warren Buffett manage all the companies he buys just because he pays millions (or billions) for them? Of course not.

And the first season? That was Jimmy, who was doing everything football. Has nothing to do with today, 35 years later.

Jerry just loves making up every bullshit excuse for why he doesn't step aside, the only thing he'll never admit to is the actual truth of it all, that he's desperate to be viewed as a "football guy" and not some dickhead meddling owner constantly fucking things up.

This guy makes a good analogy.
