hmm. So he thinks they're going to put up with each other this year. Is he implying Micah is going to play this season on his old contract? Not sure about that. Maybe. He then says we would franchise tag him next year and trade him. Thus ensuring we would get less in return because he's a year older and the other possible: bad stats year, acrimony, potential injuries, holding out games etc. I guess that makes sense because Jerry and family are stupid assholes, so they would want to make sure they got the least trade value possible.

If we franchise him I think the price is just two 1's, which I'm sure we'd get, but it's likely less than we would get if we just dealt him right now.

So just another example of their idiocy and inability to navigate how the league works.

Just what happens when a fucking fossil runs the business most of the time.

Remember when Al Davis devolved to the point he was drafting QBs based purely on arm strength and unheard of safeties from Ohio U because he ran a 4.3?

You have the right to match the contract though. So unless a team goes crazy financially and gives up two firsts you can always just match.

Sure, but that's also dumber than just extending him now because if they do it now they have an extra year (this year) to spread money out across.

Next year it's just a straight 4 year deal at whatever he signs at.

This is an important detail. At least, it would be to someone who was actually concerned with building a roster.

Probably going to be low picks

I don't even care about that anymore. We would still have 3 and that's a lot of ammo. Ideally, they let Green Bay make an attractive offer and then shop it to the Raiders and Patriots and see if they can beat it. But we know he won't do that.

Heard today that any trades between Jones and Kraft unlikely because they hate each other.

Well, any that actually help us.
