One of the two ain’t making the roster IMO.
You talking Sanders and Jevonte?

No question Blue makes the roster and I think Mafah will as well. I think our OC actually really likes him. My guess is Sanders is a practice squad candidate. I don't think there are NFL teams out there desperate for his services and so I don't think there would be any concern about another NFL team stealing him from us. But maybe the guy can surprise me in camp and preseason. I really only think we keep 3 RBs on the roster. We will need extra space likely for an O-lineman or D-lineman. Or heck I wouldn't be shocked if we want to keep 4 TEs.

I wonder how beholden to the FB position Schottenheimer is.

I know Luepke can move around a bit, but if the stuff about McCarthy holding back some of the stuff Schottenheimer wanted to do is true, he may not be as in love with the position as McCarthy was.

All of that is to say I could see us keeping all 4 RB's and cutting Luepke.

I wonder about that also since McCarthy always had the FB in Green Bay. But I noticed BS went out of his way to heavily praise Luepke last year in his coordinator PCs... talked about what an underrated player he was and how fortunate we were to have him. Sounded to me like genuine praise and not just happy coach talk, too.

I like Luepke a lot and think he could have a specific role, but it's scheme-dependent.

I'm just saying I could see Schottenheimer not valuing FB/pseudo-TE that much compared to a guy like Sanders who could conceivably handle the load for a few games if he had to.

There's a bunch of factors at play with making a decision like that though.

I don't remember, but didn't Carroll use a FB fairly often in Seattle? And BS use one sometimes at the Jets? Although they were maybe more blocking FBs than an all-around player like Luepke.

I still think Sanders is pretty spare and probably not that different from a guy you could get off the street or someone's practice squad during the year if you had to.

This is why Sanders on the practice squad makes sense. It's injury insurance but otherwise he isn't needed at all. And I'm assuming Jevonte at least has some value in the NFL. I really think Sanders has bottomed out since leaving the Eagles. He is now 28 and with some really crappy production in Carolina.

I looked at the Seattle snap counts from 2018-20 and didn't really see anybody who I would consider a FB in the top 15 or so. They consistently had 3 WR's in the top 10ish of snaps played though, so I'm guessing we'll see mostly 3 WR/1 TE/1 RB or 2 WR/2 TE/1 RB.

So I'm guessing that might be all she wrote for Luepke unless he can beat out a 4th TE or one of the RB's.

Can anyone tell me why my participation with this site was shut down and no matter what I tried to do about it I could not get it to function. There was something about it was that an X factor was in a grading process and it didn’t matter whether I was still with my sign in credential's or not, my ability to sign in was still thwarted. All of a sudden I now can sign up again and post as before. Has this happened to anyone else?

If we can get Mazi to eat a shit ton of food and weight 340 pounds, will your opinion on him change?
I never believed in fat guys with no talent

1T’s need the skill to anchor and not get pushed aside. That’s more than just size, but size helps.

It really puzzles me that Leupke did not factor more into the offense with our general lack of RB and WR skill in front of him and also Ferguson’s injury.

Do we not know how to use fullbacks? Then why is he on the roster?
