I've been thinking that more lately. This is just me, but I'm wondering more and more lately if either WR is worth #12. If you really want to give the offense more weapons and think it's smarter to wait a round or two on RB, this would be a way to do it.

This time of year it can be easy to miss the forest for the trees because we've watched and listened to so much analysis, but when I step back and look at the big picture, Warren was absolutely one of the best players at any position I saw all year. I mean he dominated games against very good teams.

The games I saw, he really jumped off the screen. I think he's a special player.

I think Warren has Jason Witten potential assuming he's dedicated. I think that's probably worth drafting in the first
Yeah I can see a similar style to young Witten. It's hard because you have to sort of forget the late years. I don't know about Warren as a route runner. Witten was really good at it. Even down to the slight pushoffs.

Simmons is a clean player outside of the injury but I am not sure he makes things different than they have been. We need playmakers on O like right now.

Not interested unless the board is completely barren.

If he were a no brainer BPA that's one thing, but he's not and he's coming off a serious injury. On top of that, what exactly are we going to do with Guyton, Steele and Simmons next year, none of whom can play inside?

Yeah, if that report is true, and who knows if it is, that tells me they think Guyton is a lost cause.

Also, I'm sure those of you who watched it talked about it then, but I'm watching this Roku draft show from 2023. This is where the Mazi discussion footage came from. I didn't know (or forgot) that we were offered a third to move back five spots. Isn't that pretty good at the end of the round? I think I'd do that.

But it's sad how sold they were on Mazi. McClay and Jerry. Also, when you see the whole thing, Jerry is definitely running things. The short clips I'd seen made it look more like McClay and McCarthy.

Also, I forgot Buffalo gave a 4th to get Kincaid. We should get a ton if we drop back just a little.

I don't believe that. He struggled, sure. But there was also times that he looked very good. Let's try and remember that he was a rookie.
You don't have to sell me, I like the guy and think he'll probably figure it out. But I don't see why else you'd take another OT that high. At some point we have to develop the Richards types.

Not trying to sell you. Just stating that I sincerely doubt that the team has already chalked him up as a lost cause. And I also sincerely doubt we take an OT high.

Yeah, this could be predraft smokescreening. I'm not too sure about the LB, either, so maybe it is.

Is the team putting this info out? Or is it just speculation by this Nick Harris? I'd be more apt to believe the latter. I doubt the team is floating info out like this, this close to the draft. And if they ARE... then yeah. I'd bet it's just a smokescreen to try and hide their true intentions.

Not that they're directly putting it out, but that little panel on that video has guys who work for the team and the Fan, so it would be easy to leak what you wanted to those "insiders."

A rookie playing one of the most important and difficult NFL positions. Who was described at the time of the draft as a raw player who will probably need a year to be ready.

And when he showed exactly what I said above during his rookie season, now we are supposed to give up?

Our fanbase has been spoiled by folks like Flozell Adams, Tyron Smith, and Tyler Smith who each started almost right away.

Harris was also adamant that Schottenheimer wouldn't be the HC, so there's that.

They might be mostly out on Steele and are thinking about shifting Guyton to RT with Simmons at LT.

But that seems kind of unlikely and I don't love burning a 1 on a guy who might not even play as a rookie because he might replace a starter a year from now.

If we're talking OL in the first the last thing I'd be interested in is a guy who is OT-only.

Campbell or Membou drops?

Great there's your RG next year and maybe a future OT.

Trade down and take someone like Banks, Booker or Zabel?

Sure, but someone like Simmons is the last thing I think we should be spending our first on.

He's a fine prospect but I think he's getting pushed up in a class that lacks pure LT prospects (Campbell is lacking length, Membou playing RT-only in college, etc.), he's coming off a major injury, and I think it's arguable whether he's a better prospect than someone like Booker or Zabel who are much cleaner fits.

A trade down is optimal. But taking an interior lineman in the first in this draft, please.

If we move down to about 20 I don't think it would be that bad.

Egbuka, Harmon or Grant would be ideal but I'd be perfectly fine with Booker or Zabel in that range.

Seems like an interesting topic for tomorrow's podcast.
