Aubrey has to hit the equivalent of like a three foot putt to keep the ball short of the goal line.

Random thoughts:

-Winfrey looked really good even before the sack, flashed a few times in the first half and had a QB hit off the edge (won't be playing on the edge in the regular season, but still) on the play after the Pride non-INT that led to a flutterball and nearly another Pride INT. He might be our 3rd best DT as depressing as that is.
-Gotta find a way to keep Houston on the roster, he's probably a better edge rusher right now than Ezeiruaku. That probably won't be the case about 4-6 weeks from now, but he has too much juice off the edge to cut in my opinion.
-Blue looked pretty good but he seems a half step slow because he's hesitating. Really hope he's not one of these brittle guys who always has something nagging because we're going to need his speed/receiving out of the backfield with all the plodders we have at RB.
-Alijah Clark looked amazing, seems like a solid bet to make the PS.
-Ajani Cornelius looked rougher than he had to this point, might be a PS guy depending on how much they like Adeniji. I personally would keep him on the 53 for his upside but something tells me they're going to try to sneak him onto the PS.
-I found it interesting that Andrew Booth and Earnest Brown sat out. In the case of Brown I assumed he was on the bubble with Winfrey, Mazi and the rest of them, but maybe not. In the case of Booth, I wonder if they're planning on going with him as the 3rd CB, I certainly hope not because I think the guy is terrible, but they seem to like him.
-Really hope we can sneak Traeshon Holden onto the PS, I doubt he makes the 53 over guys like Flournoy and Brooks who both made plays tonight.

Good catch on Brown. He's shown up all preseason but assumed it was because he was a vet... but maybe they like him enough to keep him.

If that happens, Mazi might really be out. It's shocking that when we sat so many people, he (and to some degree Toia) played so long tonight.

It's also laughable that the Chiefs are out here playing Mahomes in multiple preseason games while Javonte Williams and Kavontae Turpin chill on the sidelines every single game.

I realize a bunch (maybe most) teams are doing similar things, but considering the new coaching staff and the team's...history, I feel like we should've seen the starters for a drive or two.

But that's probably one example why Andy Reid is Andy Reid and why Schottenheimer is Schotty.

If Brown makes the 53 I can't see Mazi making it.

It's probably a tossup that we keep more than 4 DT's to begin with, and if you include Brown you're already at 3 with Osa and Thomas. Winfrey 10000% should make it over Mazi and if they keep 5 you'd have to think that's Toia.

I doubt sitting starters has a thing to do with Schottenheimer. We've been doing it long before he was ever here.
Yeah, to me it's obviously all Jerry. That Romo back injury scarred him for life.

I agree although I don't think it's just a Schottenheimer thing either in Dallas specifically or across the league. Reid is now what Parcells and those guys used to be 20 years ago, the legendary coaches who stick to the "old ways" to some extent.

I don't think it's a coincidence that he played the starters multiple drives in the 3rd preseason game, which used to be the "dress rehearsal".

Fwiw, listening to the postgame show and Broaddus and Sham actually had a good discussion on some of the final battles for the 53.

BB said someone with the team told him Brown was the player he (BB) wasn't talking enough about.

I have not felt so naked at the position since we trusted Joe Randle.
Javonte Williams is better than Joseph Randle and it’s not close.

Blue is too probably.

But I agree it’s embarrassing how we haven’t been able to manufacture some extra resources to address the position better.

Javonte would be great in a platoon. Instead we gave him a fifth round pick to split time with, or a washed up Miles Sanders.
