We had others before him. It is how we construct the roster. You might as well count on four specialists instead of three that do nothing else of consequence.
The rules changes and improvements with kickers make it stupid.

Is Goodwin's middle name Garrett? :mad

And so Carson and Mafah will be out for the year? Don't you only get two spots to return?
Could be Scott or Heath.

Yeah but there are spots where it is either unknown (RB) or downright scary (corner, DT).
Not saying the roster is perfect by any means, just that I have no major problems with who they cut and who they kept.

Mazi is Jerry's pet and who knows what pics Goodwin has of Jerry, but that's about it.

CB is fine if either Diggs or Revel can get (and stay) healthy. Like yea, if we have to play our 4th/5th CBs for extended stretches it sucks, but that's true for most teams.

They should've done more for insurance, but even if they had signed Gilmore I could easily see a world where he would've barely played beyond a few games.

Schottenheimer talking now. Sounds high on both rookie RB's. Sanders is on a short leash for sure.

Depth and size of DT's is concerning. Guessing Eberflus will rely on the LB's to fill the gaps in the running game which may work. We have a decent LB group and Overshown back later.

Doesn't this go against the Jerry will keep his draft picks no matter what narrative?
He keeps most for a couple of years. They rarely cut a dude right after drafting them.

What do I know, maybe these guys will run through a wall for him, but the Cryin' Schotty is not my favorite.

On Flournoy vs Brooks, BS said it was super close, but the last two weeks nobody on the team was better at special teams than Flournoy. Said he was dominant at gunner.

So that's cool.

Also on the league wide waivers, said this was the "second draft" and although Will was tired, he had to keep going a few more days. So at least acting like it's not the same old We Like Our Guys.

Some coaches cry and it works a little bit. Last crier I can recall have any measure of success was Vermeil.

Also, someone asked about the perception that he (BS) didn't decide the roster and Mazi was a Jerry decision. Talked about how he and Will made the decision. Didn't mention Jerry, but Will. Wonder if Will really has more say or if Will just conveys Jerry's marching orders. McClay was stumping hard for Mazi in the draft room video.

Not to defend Jerry per se, but I could see how if Will really saw something in mazi when they drafted him, it might be tempting to try one last time to salvage his career. Then again, Will isn’t dumb, he knows Jerry doesn’t want to cut a 1st rounder.

McClay gets the draft guru tag for some reason but his pets tend to fail and fail hard. He has the first round track record in his favor but he is linked to Taco Mazi a lot more than any of the others.

Remember the Cowboy greats that he personally hopped on the table for, like Reggie Robinson or Eric Scott?

Granted those are middling picks, but that seems to be his role in how we do things.

He is worlds better than anyone was have had in the role though. But he is an information gatherer, just like how Jones insulted Johnson with the label.
