Arch is going to need to stay another year in school because his mechanics aren't anywhere near ready for the NFL.

No question he needs to and will. Frankly all college QBs should stay. They all get paid more money than NFL QBs who aren't top 10 picks. Even the turd QB for Iowa is making over 2 mil this year.

Wonder if he's actually working on changing it, though. You'd think I'd he were he'd pretty much already have that done last year when he wasn't playing much.

The thing about changing mechanics is that you have to get to the point where the new mechanics are second nature. Otherwise when the bullets start flying you just revert to what you've always done.

Well, given his bloodline, I doubt the kid isn't at least trying because none of those guys have ever acted entitled when it comes to their craft.

So if I had to guess, I'm sure he's putting in the same sort of work his uncles and grandfather did, but at the same time, who is his QB coach?

That makes a big difference.

If he's not getting the proper tutelage, then that will set back his progress.

Right, that's why I think it's getting too late to change very much. Can't really do it during the season. Romo had those years where he was just a backup to do a million reps when it didn't matter.

Romo had a retarded delivery but it was also a stupid quick release because of it.

Honestly the Manning kid just needs a lot of reps. He has barely played and he played some really weak levels of competition in high school. I have no skin in the game but I'd have Manning stay in college as long as possible to perfect his craft. No reason for a kid like him to rush to the NFL.

Yet another week where you all can rest easy as Tech handled another powerhouse.

Just another day at the office.

Boomer!

Sooner!

Feels good finally having healthy WRs and a competent QB who can consistently complete passes 10 yards beyond the line of scrimmage.

We're not national title contenders, but we're certainly a top 15 team.

Additional game reps are what he needs most. It looks like he's not completely comfortable with the speed of the game.

If he doesn't take another snap this year, I bet he'd still drafted top 5 next year.

Never underestimate the delusion of NFL front offices.

These same people watched the college careers of Trey Lance, Anthony Richardson, Christian Ponder, EJ Manual, etc. and were like, yup... 1st round grade.

That Manning name will also buy him more time to develop. If he struggles early I can't see NFL teams kicking him to the curb after two or three seasons like we've seen them do with other 1st round picks. He'll be allowed the full 5 years to prove that he can be a franchise QB.

Minnesota game halted because the blowout was too big? I've never seen that before.

I couldn't help but think about Stephen and Jerry when I saw Dan Lanning's response to Mike Gundy's whining about not having money.

The Eagles/Chiefs/Ravens/Bills/49ers spend to win.

The Cowboys save to have excuses.

That long grind it out drive to end the game... Haven't seen anything like that in a long damn time.

That was amazing. It was complimentary, high IQ football. This new OC seems to be perfectly in sync with what's best for the team and understands that the offense has a hand in helping the defense.

I hated the years where the defense couldn't stop anyone but the OCs would insist on still running no huddle.
