Instead of firing McCarthy last year like a normal organization they chose to punish him by resetting the roster with an eye on 2025 and beyond.

If they surprise in 2024 and make a NFCC, great, if not nobody will blink at letting McCarthy walk and Jerry won't have to pay a coach for a year to sit at home.
The Belichick thing might be the end game.

Hell, even if you forget about Henry and his $8 million for a minute, Devin Singletary just put up 16 / 95 and a TD for the Giants and he's making $5 million.

There were guys out there that are capable players and weren't what any sane person would think of as expensive in an NFL context.

Dysfunctional franchise run by an 80 year old man that may or may not have dementia, but clearly is leaning into his stupid way of doing things. He says the lies that I guess the idiots out there might believe, but no one on our board, and many other places buys his shit. I'm pretty sure everyone here predicted the lame duck coach things playing out badly. We all called the running back situation correctly. The DL situation. THe contractual cave-ins just wasting time. On and on we saw it. I genuinely want to know how Jerry and family can run their team this way. Arguably the most famous sports team in the world, and they are running it like cheap miserly cowards, until they are forced to pay in the most obvious way possible.

I'm so frustated with this situation, and I've skipped a lot of the last two games because I wasn't going to put myself through the obvious dogshit that was happening. I'm not even joking when I say I'd be fine with getting rid of everyone in the entire organization except our kicker. Do you realize how fucked up that is?

Happy Monday.

I barely watched yesterday's game.

I caught the first quarter all the way up to when CD fumbled in the redzone then took off from there to eat some bbq and drink some beer and when I returned, the last Cowboys offensive drive was just starting.

I'm guessing I'll be missing a lot of games this year because I just don't care a whole lot.

The Belichick thing might be the end game.
I think it is if only because I think Jerry is getting desperate and the external discontent is starting to reach early 2000's levels even though we've won 12 games three years in a row. He's obviously getting defensive with the constant questioning of their personnel decisions, and unless he's a complete moron I think he knows that he may only get 1, maybe 2 HC hires at most before he dies.

The next HC is also likely the last one Dak will have, so I think Jerry will go for broke since he's talked so often about how much of a failure it'd be to not win a Super Bowl with both Romo and Dak.

As soon as I saw that Belichick wasn't taking a job last year I knew there was at least a 50/50 chance he'd be the guy going into 2025, and at this point I think it's more like 70/30.

It may be completely misguided, and the game may have passed Belichick and his assistants by, but I think that's where their heads are at right now.

I also don't think you can even blame Dak, we already know he isn't a Mahomes-level QB who can single-handedly lift his team out of shit.

And I'm not even sure Mahomes would've won either of these last two games with the defense allowing about 25-30 points in the first half of each game and allowing teams to immediately jump out to 15-20 point leads in the first quarter.

I think Dak has lost a half a step which is making it more difficult for him to evade pressure, but overall he was fine and did what he could to keep the team in the game early on. It's not his fault the defense let the Ravens march right down the field for a TD on their first two drives, or on the first drive of the second half to effectively end the game, or that Lamb fumbled on a routine tackle on a drive that should've made it 14-10.

Must be nice to be able to build an elite defense and win with a mediocre Qb like the Steelers.

As much as I love college football, I've always been a much bigger fan of the pro game but yet, this is the first time I can honestly say that I look forward more to Saturday football than Sunday football.
