You don't have to learn from your mistakes when there's no one to hold you accountable.
Why haven't we won in almost 30 years?
You nailed it in 1 sentence.
You don't have to learn from your mistakes when there's no one to hold you accountable.
You don't think the man in the mirror is enough? You don't have to learn from your mistakes when there's no one to hold you accountable..
That's not the responses I was talking about. If people objected to the politics I have no problem.Exactly. There's nothing ignorant or cromagnon about not wanting these idiotic sociopolitical statements in our sports.
How much homo and trans bashing are you seeing while watching a football game? That's not the responses I was talking about. If people objected to the politics I have no problem.
It's the homo and trans bashing that's fucking devolved bullshit. I mean good god people unleash on them for no good reason
I mostly agree with this, but it is complicated because over time people who are forced by societal pressures to conform begin to feel repressed and resentful.Have you ever considered if it wasn't thrown in people's faces constantly, there would actually be LESS homo and trans bashing? I mean, out of sight out of mind, right?
Now, you might just be talking about the shitbags that are just randomly traveling around and harassing/assaulting people. And if it's just those people you're talking about, no amount of rainbow logos or heartfelt commercials will ever change their particular shitiness.
I don’t agree with the sentiment behind all this. Should these people be attacked in any way? Absolutely not. But they also should not be placed on a pedestal like they are any more important than any one else.I mostly agree with this, but it is complicated because over time people who are forced by societal pressures to conform begin to feel repressed and resentful.
‘Pride’ events give these under-represented groups chances to be represented and publicly express themselves— this is good.
But whether the event is a Gay Pride parade or a KKK rally they tend to bring out the haters which can spark violence — this is bad.
There’s a line between expressing disagreement on something and openly and directly shitting all over someone that people shouldn’t cross.
These latter asshats know it’s wrong and they do it anyway because they know they can redirect peoples anger in their favor and it makes them feel powerful.
You're a person, I'm a person, they are people. It's not an accomplishment, it's just who they are. So I agree, these special tributes, events or whatever are just dumb. If the goal is to treat everyone the same, I always fail to see how treating a group of people as special will ever accomplish this. It's sort of like affirmative action in a way, I've always thought, all it does is breed resentment and more divide. It's designed to treat certain people as special or better than others. Racism doesn't balance out racism. And treating the LGBTQ community as special doesn't somehow combat homophobia. It's exacerbates it.I don’t agree with the sentiment behind all this. Should these people be attacked in any way? Absolutely not. But they also should not be placed on a pedestal like they are any more important than any one else.
So you are gay. Or trans. Or whatever. I don’t care. I don’t need to hear about it. Live your life. Your choices do not affect my life. Until you CHOOSE to force me to alter my life to accommodate/accept your choices into my life. Now we have a problem.
They're special because they're an "oppressed and marginalized" community. Or something. And treating the LGBTQ community as special doesn't somehow combat homophobia.
Everyone is oppressed or marginalized at this point. It doesn't make a person special. Doing special things makes a person special. They're special because they're an "oppressed and marginalized" community. Or something.
To me, it’s live and let live, here’s where we agreee. Occasional parades don’t bother me and I could literally give a shit about some social media post.I don’t agree with the sentiment behind all this. Should these people be attacked in any way? But why do they need all this public recognition or whatever for their sexuality? When is the last time you saw a celebration for heterosexuals? But to be fair, there have been gay pride parades for as long as I can remember. It has only been in recent years it has been shoved down people's throats ad nauseum. And coupled with this recent stupidity of the countless different sexualities/pronouns/etc... where people DEMAND that everyone accepts this as normal is where the problem arises. To me, it’s live and let live, here’s where we agreee. The rancid bile, piling on, and outright attacks— not justifiable or excusable. Tolerance will never happen in a vacuum, people have a right to an occasional parade or week where their demographic is recognized. Even the f'ing KKK has that right.
To a middle-class+, educated, white, straight, American male these ‘parades’ or ‘_ week’ occurrences may seem outlandish or even selfish, but from the others’ point of view it’s a relatively rare moment of recognition before they go back to being relatively underprivileged.
Have your day, just please don’t make such a spectacle that my life gets disrupted
Why are you letting them take the rainbows from us!!!!!We aren't participating in Pride Month, but the league "rainbowed" our logo anyway.

I could be wrong but I suspect there may be a rotation of some sort. Like they switch one gay person in for another. So that it's not the same people in every parade. Just my conspiracy theory on the topic.Man those gays marching 24/7/365 must be total studs.
Jesus, dude. More power to you.Man those gays marching 24/7/365 must be total studs. They can march in their constantly happening gay pride activities that are interrupting and damaging you every second of every day without eating or sleeping.
And I agree kids are impressionable which is why their introduction to concepts such as gender neutrality should be handled carefully, but kids are super adaptive. You’re making it sound like they are going to spontaneously inject hormones the moment they see someone non-binary.
The concept of gayness doesn’t come up in elementary school curriculum, but teachers need to know how to respond if kids are bullying a gay child. And no kid is going to erupt into gay fits at the sight of their first gay person.
I’ll ask you to honestly find proof beyond just imagination that weird transformations happen when kids learn about the history of gay rights movements or happen to see someone wearing a pride pin in school.
These might be the briefest of interactions, but there’s nothing better than trying to hide something from a kid to motivate them to pursue it. Best to just be honest, and there’s no reason to dwell on it
Pretty clear to see with your first paragraph you're interested in turning this retarded. No point in reading the rest or continuing this discussion, I guess.Man those gays marching 24/7/365 must be total studs.
