I really don't believe they want to get rid of him, and it would be hard to justify leapfrogging Harris in favor of Newsom from a DEI perspective. It's one thing if he's elected in a primary they can just say it's the will of the people. But handpicked?

The only person I could see them turning to is Hillary.
If they run Harris and it's a fair election, Trump will win in a landslide. Hell, I think he wins in a landslide against Biden.

What also concerns me is that Trump is starting to show the early stages of cognitive decline as well. It's FAR worse with Biden, but we'd need to prepare ourselves for the likely situation where we get to watch Trump go down the same path over the next 4 years.
I do not agree with that.

Makes you wonder who's really running the country. Staffers? Which ones?
Obama, Hillary, and the elites would be my guess.

Housing prices were increasing 19-22% year over year. The tariffs caused a price increase on consumables across the board. Spending 7.5 Trillion and adding that to the national debt forced price levels up.

I can go into many details proving that out. His fiscal irresponsibility resulted in massive inflation, and then Biden added to it. But, inflation doesn't happen overnight. It takes years to occur.
I wouldn't mind seeing those numbers. But you have to add an asterisk to all of them saying *Covid.

Housing prices definitely were not going up 20% in most places in those years. Maybe in California, but not here.

That didn't start until just a few years ago.

Oh, and this whole jobs gain thing is nonsense. They shut the fucking country down and millions lost their jobs. Of course there is going to be a rebound. But it had jack and shit to do with Biden's policies.

Covid caused a great deal of the inflation. No president could overcome that. But, it was the combination of factors that led to all of it, not some singular event as low information "news" outlets would lead people to believe.

California was one market with rapidly increasing prices, but not the only one. Higher demand areas pushed prices up due to low inventory and artificially low interest rates....which is also known as inflation.

Exactly. You could have stopped right there.
But to deny that it happened while Trump was in office or that Biden is culpable for that is intellectually dishonest. We won't see the financial ramifications of Biden's fiscal irresponsibility for another 2 years or so. But we felt Trump's, because he, too, was fiscally irresponsible. You can't spend $7.5 trillion in less than 4 years and not think that there may be fiscal consequences.

Local markets are not general inflation. And Trump doesn't control low inventory (often due to ridiculous regulations) or interest rates.

I agree with this. Trump's spending during Covid was out of hand.
It's one of the reasons why I lost faith in the Republican Party. They've become big Government, spendy happy lunatics like the Democrats. Fiscal sanity/responsibility doesn't exist with either Party.

True, but if he wants to take credit for fiscal success - which a President rarely has any control over since Congress controls the budget and The Fed with interest rates - then he also must take the blame if/when shit hits the fan.
