This surprises me. I just knew it was going to be Shapiro.
He would have been far more commanding and hence threatening to Harris on an intellectual level. Plus…Jew.

A veep is supposed to compensate for your weaknesses, but he's further to the left than she is. The whole thing is very strange.
I think it's as simple as a non-threatening swing state governor who might bring in some of the old vote they lost with Biden.

Not sure he's left of her, though. She was rated the most liberal in congress -- even left of Bernie Sanders.

This situation was really made for a Harris win and the shame is that Trump cannot refrain from his horrid personality. There will be thousands of voters that would vote for Trump but Trump will go on with his grade school mannerisms of childish name calling and poor manners until he turns off to many of his supporters because it will be an embarrassment and his voting base will just do nothing. They wont vote for Harris but they can’t vote for Trump either. Harris willl win simply by default. A shame but unless he gets rid of his silly childish name calling and shows some maturity he is his going to come up short by his once enthused followers.

I can't see him bringing in any votes that she wasn't gonna get anyway.
Wasn’t about bring in votes rather about a loss of his voter base. Her base is solid and constant. Trump flowers will likely just fall away if he persists with his current cutesy name game of her and her leadership group.

I almost asked this of your last post, but why do you think Trump followers would leave him now? It's not like they don't know about the name calling, it's been going on since 2016.

Republicans have lost/underperformed in every national election since 2016, most notably in 2022 when historically the party not holding the Presidency does well.

If Haley were the nominee she'd be running away with it but Republicans just keep getting bitch whipped into supporting Trump.

You underestimate how many Trump voters wouldn't even turn out for a Neocon RINO like Haley.

Well said.

I think you're absolutely right.

Trump is called weird, authoritarian, and fascist but people lose their minds when he says "crooked." :doh

Can't argue with this.

As I said, I feel like Trump earned my vote, but if I could snap my fingers and change things, he would not be the nominee.

You’re spot on. And, honestly, if he hadn’t raised my taxes and imposed tariffs (also a tax increase), I could look past his asshole behavior. But, he stole money from me, and that’s unforgivable.

And honestly, he isn’t any of those things. He’s a populist asshole. Nothing more.

Which should make anyone want to vomit.
