I mean I'm talking about a hypothetical 2028 assuming the Democrats are guaranteed a win based on the post I was quoting. So doesn't really have anything to do with right now. Or frankly with whoever will be the Republican candidate in 2024. But yeah, Trump wasn't my choice.
I’m hoping that the Republicans will have a candidate worth voting for in 2028, and not some Trump cultist sycophant. Find someone who is actually fiscally conservative and believes in a small government.

Jesus will return to judge the living and the dead before that happens. Every POTUS grows the government.
And this is why I can’t vote for either a Democrat or Republican.

Seems to me it would make more sense to vote for the person who would at least limit the growth as much as possible rather than the one who would purposely grow it even faster.

Unless you're just determined to state over and over that they're all equally crooked and evil in your eyes and there is no difference at all between them. Which doesn't even make sense.

Oh I agree completely. I've been wanting that for forever. Those candidates never seem to get to the front. Shocking, people are manipulated too easily by people with power and money who prop up the people they want.

Given that Trump increased the national debt by over 30% in 4 years by spending $7.5 trillion, I have no confidence that he'll limit the growth of anything.

You ask me a year ago and I would have said the same thing. Honestly now, given everything, I actually am going to vote for Trump. Yeah the deficit spending blows but I trust the economy to be better as a result. Which just means more money in my pocket.

If you move into a house that has a leaky roof, cracked foundation and mold... you gotta spend money just to make it habitable. Then you turn it over to a bunch of assholes who just fuck it up again.

And EVERY president in my lifetime has been either a Democrat or Republican.
Right. The point being you saying you wouldn't be voting for one of them.

So either you won't be voting, or you'll vote for ~rando soon to be forgotten~

Except that’s not what he did. And, economies take 2-3 years before any impacts from fiscal policy are felt. It’s why the inflationary pressure from his spending coupled with his makeshift tax increase via tariffs was only felt at the end of his term and heavily into Biden’s. Then, Biden doubled down on Trump’s lunacy and kept spending, which accelerated the inflation caused by Trump’s drunken sailor spending and Covid.
