The thing that makes me chuckle is that if Kennedy threw his support behind Harris, those that think this is some game changer would be dismissing it.
Dem votes going to another Dem wouldn’t be as impactful as Dem votes possibly going to a Republican in a tight race.

It's a tragedy that the American people weren't given a real choice by letting him participate.
I wonder how much it would have mattered. But think back to the likes of Ross Perot. The establishment does not like three candidates. It is much easier to grind them down until they start thinking about their own gain.

The Dems not embracing the Kennedy family when they had the chance was really stupid. They were wildly popular back in the day, and there are still a lot of people around that remember JFK and RFK.

And, RFK was by far the best candidate they had and would have molded the party into a serious party again because he would have forced them to drop a lot of nonsense which means a lot of moderates could have gravitated to them.

But the people pulling the strings in that party don't want to give up their power, even if it's to the party's detriment.

Agreed.

But even when he approached Harris to join them, they again fucked up by turning him away.

I don't see the problem in RFK Jr looking to both camps for a spot in the new administration. He wants to rein in the horrible Big Pharma companies and fix other problems like childhood obesity and sickness that should be independent of politics.

But of course they aren't independent of politics because the Dems are in bed with Big Pharma - bigly - so they wouldn't go for it.

That aligns more with Trump for certain.

If he didn’t live on the fringes with his conspiracy theorist nonsense, he would’ve been a really attractive candidate because he’s moderate. I also like his stance on leaving vaccination choices to the individual rather than some higher authority mandating them. I’m not an anti-vaxxer like he is, but I absolutely support letting people decide for themselves what they choose to do with their bodies. @Cotton and I talked about this a lot during Covid.

RFK is basically in the center. And that center line has moved. What was conservative 4 years ago is now far-right. What was liberal 4 years ago is now just left of center. His votes will come to Trump.
I think Trump maybe gets 60% of the 5% that RFK was getting. So 3% to Kamala’s 2%. Is that enough to overcome her leads? Dunno.
