Interesting take and it may be entirely true.

Blank may have insisted McKay have final say and Belichick wanted something different.

Assuming Baltimore has another solid year next season I'd argue their DC should be at the top of the list. I don't think he'll get a HC job this cycle, but we all know Jerry isn't going to hire some 38 year old coordinator.
Great example of finding a D-coordinator that no one would have looked at as an "out side the box hire." Smart guy, worked his way up through the organization. Learned a lot and now is an excellent defensive coordinator. As fans we have no idea about these types of guys but they are out there.

I just wonder which direction we take.

The Harbaugh twig growing from that tree or the latest person to touch Metrosexual Offense/McVay business incubator.

Belichick is obviously the superior coach but from what he's shown in New England over the past decade, no one should turn over full control of personnel decisions to him. New England probably has the least talented roster in the NFL and it's largely Belichick's doing.

So I don't blame the Falcons for saying thanks but no thanks if Belichick was insistent on having full personnel control. I just would have found a better Plan B than Raheem Morris.

Belichick at this stage is an administrator of culture, much like Parcells was when we got him.

That's it. I really don't know what motivates the Hoodie right now other than the fact he probably wants to shed the "It Was Brady" thing.

I just don't know how he would fit in this organization...but I am more scared who he would bring in with him.

Nightmare scenario, Belichick signs on.

Spends two years building the team back up. He level-sets the culture, much like Parcells did.

Then hands the shit over to some minion like McDaniels.

The all-time winningest coach record is somewhat of a motivator I believe.

Hiring anybody from Baltimore means a bit of a paradigm shift for the organization.

If you look closely, that is not our M.O.
Because what we have been doing has been oh so ripe with championships.

In all honesty, though, we are going to have to get a HC that will force Stephen and Jerry to walk on eggshells. Someone that will change how they run a franchise. That may only be Belichik if they don't change after the man in the mirror session. I just don't think he is that good of a HC without the goat.

That egg shell coach is not a fit for where we are as an organization.

Good. Then that is the way we need to go because what we are doing is proving to not be successful.

Yeah. The Cowboys are notorious for being all about change and pursuit of that trophy. They are even willing to be uncomfortable if that means delivering a championship.

Yes. I know. That was why I mentioned change. Either by who they bring in or by their ownselves. I know this shit won't happen but I was asked what I would do or I assumed I was asked what was needed..
