Several people here have mentioned this already.
Yea for weeks, I think they're a good bit better than Minnesota from last year but there is a lot of "reversion to the mean" with the Eagles that isn't the case with us and the 49ers, and that will eventually come back to bite them either this year or next year.

I feel like us and the 49ers are legit 10-11 win teams (as of this point) while the Eagles are closer to 9.

And just wait until Kelce retires after this season, their whole smoke and mirrors, house of cards, tush push bullshit offense is going to implode on itself.

I think the reverse of what is happening with us is happening with them. You can see our confidence building game by game. Now that every break, every call and every close game is not going their way, you can see their confidence eroding. Would be great to somehow get by them and win the division.

The fact of the matter is the Eagles only have one truly quality player in the back 7, Slay, and he's getting up there. It'd be like if we had Gilmore, not much else at CB, and average at best (but probably really below average) safeties/LB's.

Their front 4 is really good, and they're a great front running team when the pass rush can pin their ears back like basically every single game last season, but when they get down you can mitigate their pass rush.

Combine that with their pass game being like 80% comprised of nothing but intricate screens, rub routes and 50/50 go balls and this is what you get. They're still dangerous because they have arguably the best OL in the league, a QB who can run around, really good WR's, and a good pass rush, but there's big holes there if the game script doesn't go their way.

And once that OL starts to drop off...

Yea but I was saying this last week, even if they end up as the 2 seed I could very easily see them losing to the Rams or Packers, maybe even the Seahawks depending on what's going on with them.

Their pass defense isn't going to improve drastically and as long as the Rams or Packers could keep their QB's upright, especially the Rams with their WR's, they could easily get shredded in the first round.

Few random thoughts...

It was good to see the run blocking much improved over earlier in the year. It seems to be getting better each week, obviously depending on the opponent. But we know that's the strength of the Eagles defense, and it still did pretty well.

Huge IMO seeing Rico get more carries and earlier in the game. Pollard had 16 carries and Rico 12. Most of us have been calling for this and they finally did it. I wonder if that's the coaches trusting Rico more or wanting to manage Pollard's workload for later in the year.

Hankins getting hurt has been a concern and it happened. Fortunately it may work out okay that he's back in a few weeks with the rest of his body rested up and healed for the playoffs. I don't think Mazi can even play that spot in important situations right now, and Gallibooze isn't really a 1T. I'd actually like to see Golston in the rotation more -- he's kind of faded into the background this year. I'm sure the vet NT we signed a few weeks ago will be called up, so it'll be interesting to see how much he actually plays.

Gilmore was excellent last night but I think I heard a stat on the postgame that Smith was only targeted a few times while on Bland and only had something like 1 or 2 catches for 9 yards. Seems like despite the bad Seahawks game, some teams are still wary of getting caught in the BLANDER.

How nice is it to have our "overdrafted" young LG from Tulsa pretty much neutralize Mr. All-Everything from Georgia? Glad he's there for the next decade.

Fifteen wins in a row at home and finally a real home-field advantage? Jerry has to be loving that alone about Mike right now after all those years of being barely over .500 at home and opposing fans practically taking over the stajium.

I'll stop there but it always feels good to defeat a Kenneth Gainwell-led team.

Random Thoughts:

-Hard to say Dak hasn't earned an extension, I just hope he shows us how important winning a Super Bowl is to him by making concessions on a team friendly deal (i.e. a 6-7 year deal where they can push money way out into the future, or taking a lower AAV around $45/year).
-I was shocked at how well we ran the ball in the first half but Steele still looks like a liability in pass protection, good thing is we can get out of his deal after 2024 without much of a hit.
-Martin has either lost a step or he's still not 100% healthy, he's still a good starting RG, just not the all-world guy we're used to. The Cox strip sack was mostly on him, and somewhat on Dak for not getting out of there quick enough.
-We don't have to worry about LB for as long as Quinn is here, Clark and Bell are exactly what he wants in those spots, and Overshown may end up being the best of them all once he's back.
-Does anybody really think Gilmore will leave if we want him back next year? As long as Quinn is back there's no chance this guy leaves a defense like this in what is likely the last year or two of his career just to chase a few more bucks.
-Mukuamu was playing the slot on the 3rd and 4th down stops late in the 3rd quarter, the back to back Gilmore tackles when it was 27-13 and the Eagles had it on about our 30-35 yard line. Having depth like that is why I find it laughable that anybody would think we need to force CB high in the draft next year.
-I'm a little worried at how often Quinn is bringing 6-man pressures on 3rd/4th down the last two games. He really leaned into it hard against Seattle in the 2nd half after we couldn't get off the field in the first half and did it a bunch last night in big spots. So far it's worked out, but I could easily see a few big plays hitting against it over the next few weeks, particularly against Miami where I think he'll have to dial it back a bit.
-That point leads into my next one, which is that Parsons is really the only guy who can consistently win off the edge on traditional type rushes. Lawrence, Armstrong and such are all nice complementary pieces, but most of their pressure is coming off movement, twists/stunts, getting left unblocked on a blitz and so forth. I love Lawrence and I'd like to re-sign Armstrong for the right price, but this is why I'd have no problem taking a guy like Latu or Verse if they somehow fell into the 20's.
-The stats don't show it but I think Osa is rounding into our best DT since probably Ratliff. He'll never be stout holding the POA vs. the run against doubles and such, but he makes plenty of plays shooting gaps with his quickness and is developing into a solid primary interior rusher.
-Thank the good Lord Hankins isn't out for year but it'll be interesting to see if Mazi can improve at all with presumably more snaps over the next few weeks against good opponents.
-Ferguson and Aubrey, both Gods.

I just hope these Johnny Fuck Around's are satisfied with proving their point to the eventual DPoY during the regular season and start giving him the fucking whistle he deserves in the playoffs.

They're out here giving shitbirds like Milton Williams bullshit ass holding calls because they flop around like a dead fish while the DPoY gets 2 fucking holding calls in a year.

Fuck off.
