This is confusing sometimes, but doesn't it look like a post June 1 cut next year is most likely? Then the hits are spread to at least be manageable.

But he has an extra 4 mil bonus if he's on the team the 5th day of league year '24.

And I didn't realize he got 23 mil guaranteed at signing. Holy shit. What an awful contract. :doh
I forget the june 1st stuff. It takes it down to a 4 mill dead cap hit instead of the 13.

It's simple you save cap by not having him on the team. It's just a question of which years cap you want those savings. 2024, 2025, 2026. Cutting Gallup isn't going to create cap room for 2024 free agency for example. Making him a June 1 cut gets you cap room on June 1st.

Nice kid but he just doesn't get any separation. Maybe someone else can find a fit for what he does.

Don’t be to quick to annoint Dak as being ready for all opponents. There were several times in the game where he would revert to his bad habits and allowed the Seattle Club to stay in the game. Fortunately he came through when the chips were down and managed to execute while under duress. I can only hope he stays focused and doesn’t retreat to his statue imitation and freeze rather than becoming mobile and working out of the pocket. It remains to be seen how he will react to a defense that goes all out to take him down . The rest of the schedule has some defensive Teams in the upper tier of wins and losses that can put a QB under duress.
He played well against Philly last time. We'll find out a week from Sunday if he can do it again. The Eagles just a tougher mentality. Yeah, they've caught some shady breaks from the officials. But give credit where it's due. They can play like crap, then make plays when they have to. Coming back against Seattle was good, but can we do it against a top team?

It is kind of funny that he used the film of when it worked against Navy, who has -- all respect to their character and service -- some of the worst D1 athletes in the country. Couldn't be more different from Micah Parsons if you tried.

I was in the Navy, I don't take offense to it. No really good athlete is going to go the Roger Staubach route these days. lol And have to go through OCS while there too? Nobody is going to do that.

There's no world where they can keep him next year, it'd be pure idiocy given how things have played out. It's not so much about the 2024 savings but if you're wiping 10-15 off the books in 2025, 2026 and such, it opens up things quite a bit.

You could easily resign someone like Biadasz with that cap opening for example, just make the first year cap hit like 4 million then have it balloon up to about 10 in 2025 and so on.
I don't understand why they don't bench Gallup now and give his reps to Brooks.

We were definitely man-heavy, but no team plays exclusive man. Our coverage got burned early and often because Wino kept getting the ball out in two-ish seconds. They took crazy chances and their wideouts made big plays.
To be fair, on the long TD to Metcalf, Wilson should have covered over the top

Oh, that's right. Now I remember. Brooks is a 7th rounder, Jerry and the Idiot Son gave Gallup an absurd contract. Jerry and the Idiot Son never own up to mistakes. Replacing a big-contract WR with a 7th round pick makes Jerry and the Idiot Son look stupid. They don't like looking stupid.

I mean I get the screen. But you should probably put the RB on the other side so he doesn't have to clear all that shit first. Either way Lawrence destroyed it before it had a chance regardless. And well getting a ball over Parsons head is not the easiest of things to do.

and he might not have thrown it if Wilson didnt move up.
I think Geno was chucking the ball regardless against us. He knew he was going to sort of have to throw blind passes because of the pressure. It's what he did and it worked.

There's about a 0.0% chance they can beat SF and Philly back to back so I'm hoping they save up their next "circle the wagons" moment for their home MNF game against Philly the week after.
I think you are right about the odds on those opponents but that is likely what what will have to happen. That’s why I started out by saying don’t get too carried away with the Seattle performance because the real test is in the remaining schedule .
