Now, if you want argue why chicken fried steak is called that, I'm with you. The name doesn't make any sense. Why is the word chicken in it at all? It's beef. Doesn't make any damn sense. But chicken fried steak came around well before chicken fried chicken, so they named chicken fried chicken after chicken fried steak because it is prepared/cooked the exact same way.It's a fried chicken patty (flattened breast). Therefore it's the same.
This topic is like politics. No one is going to change the others mind.
You know, completely different than fried chicken. The only similarities are they are both fried. You don't tenderize fried chicken. You do with chicken fried chicken.
