It's a terrible combination of things, namely lazy route running from Gallup and schematically we don't give Gallup a wide variety of routes. He's mainly running isolated routes between the numbers and the sideline, and often it's the most simplistic combination of vertical stuff like comebacks/curls and go's.

It's predictable but I also think it lulls Gallup to sleep since it's frankly boring to just run like 5 basic routes, often as the X where he's never in motion.

That's another staple of the Garrett passing game.

Dak is limited, he's very close to being on borrowed time, but we know he's going to be here for another two years, so you might as well get rid of Moore and see him in a completely new scheme as a last ditch effort because this pairing is clearly not working.

And we know for a fact that Jerry loves Dak and believes his, "If you've seen him do it once he can do it again" saying.

So the question is, what does Jerry allow to happen? I don't know how he resolves the two themes of 1) I know Dak isn't the problem, he just needs better coaching, and 2) keeping things "Dak Friendly" which is keeping his bud Kellen in place and not learning a new offense.

I believe it, he never gets separation on those routes.

There are plenty of tells that we apparently lack the self-awareness to notice.

Teams have been saying for years and years how simple the Cowboys' offensive scheme is.

It is part of an organizational theme in terms of getting and developing talent, but also how we evaluate it.

We don't have smart players, our coaches are not nearly as good as we believe. Something like this shouldn't be so easy to spot and particularly weaponized in a high stakes football game.

It is not happening when they play the quality teams in the conference. This was one of those years that will be a missed opportunity as the NFC playoff group this year was very weak.

Technically everything goes up to them but I think it's more a matter of them having blind faith in their pet cat coaches as opposed to them actually believing the best way to win is just "out-talenting" teams.

It's a bullshit and lazy philosophy

You must evolve your game, adapt the latest trends, and adjust to your fucking opponent. Everybody else does it to us.

Our counter is "unleash Romo" or "throw it to Dez" or "put Diggs on him" or just "Micah"

Players need coaching and a specific gameplan, period, no matter how talented.

Offense couldn't keep drives going, defense got worn down. Same story.

DT, #2 WR, RB, QB-- same story with this team.

We're stuck at QB, but can hopefully address the rest

-- Says he and a couple other reporters walked off with Jerry to his car after the game and he thinks it's clear that Jerry appreciates what McCarthy has put in place now and would listen to "other voices" (the coach I took that to mean) more now. Moore says this is a change in tone from Jerry from last year.

-- Does think McCarthy could get a new OC if he wanted, but it sounds like that is a relatively new development (see above).

-- Dak is 100% safe of course but thinks some kind of change will be made around Dak. (I just hope it's not just the QB coach or something lame like that.)

-- Says when McC came in, they did want to accommodate Dak as much as possible. Moore says three years in, they need to re-evaluate that and challenge him more.

-- Says Dak is so nice and so respected, maybe they coddle him more than they would other players. As he says, football isn't a normal workplace and sometimes you need someone to get in your face. Thinks Dak would respond well to that.

-- Also thinks they need to be very realistic in how they evaluate Dak and his abilities. Says while he's better than most, he's not elite and does have flaws. Maybe he doesn't need so much latitude in changing plays, etc.

I'm not so sure. Moore thought McCarthy could make a change but I don't know if I agree.

I'm not sure if anyone really knows with Jerry. He could think one thing today and change his mind tomorrow.
