Cooks is a good bit better than Gallup and it'd save us from having to spend another high pick on a WR which could be invested on the lines, so I'd be for it.
I was balking at the "over the top" part. Expect the Beckham talk to heat up again.

I know the starting QB will always be talked about, but is there that much of a debate anymore?

Dak is and will be here, so all we can do it put the best team possible around him and hope for the best.
You have a point, but havent we followed this line of logic several times already, and to no avail?

I wouldn't say to no avail. We're in a better position as a team than probably about 25 teams. And the QB is part of that.

Yea who knows what will get them "over the top", they were close here on the road against a very good team but there's always something that goes awry with this team the further they go in the playoffs.

This seemed like a good idea at the time.

McCarthy can accomplish some great things here with a real QB and the freedom to do what he sees fit.

He had us ready to play in back to back playoff games and that hasn't happened since the 90s.
The D came out and punched the Niners in the mouth. It was actually refreshing. They smacked Deebo the first time he caught the ball, and they roughed up McCaffrey the first few times he ran the ball. They were hitting hard. McCarthy, Quinn, whoever it was had them ready to play.

Part of it is luck. People won't want to hear that today but if Minnesota beat the giants and we drew the eagles instead of SF, we might still be playing next week.

Remember this?

That was Diggs on Kittle on that circus catch. If he would have just made some kind of contact that ball was coming loose.

Please elaborate on this. What position do you see us in? Divisional round loser is the position I see. And I have no reason to see that improving.

I haven’t been that excited about a football game since I was a kid. I really thought they were going to win it. It was our time. The defense was in control, Purdy looked like a rookie... And has been said several times, we just needed decent, bus driver play. No stupid turnovers, essentially - and Dak couldn’t deliver. I’m not a hater of the guy. He plays incredibly at times and then others he’s just worthless. I‘d rather just have a guy that’s always dependable.

Luck is a huge factor in the NFL given that parity is something they actively work towards. The outcome really came down to just a handful of plays which happen every week in the league and are mostly 50/50 plays, but you'd think some of that stuff would go our way for once in these divisional games.

I can't remember a single divisional game that we lost where I really felt like things bounced our way yet we still lost.

Dak played poorly and was the most at fault for the loss, but I didn't think Purdy was significantly better. If Diggs just catches that INT, which was more or less the same type of play the 49ers made on us earlier, the whole game goes a different direction.

I think he's saying our roster is better than approximately 25 other teams, which I agree with.
