People saying you cant trade Dak Prescott because of the salary cap.

I disagree.
/Howie Roseman
Wentz wasn't making $40M and we don't have a Jalon Hurts waiting to take over.

I don’t think Dak is better than Eli was frankly. Eli played up in the playoffs and Dak doesn’t.

Sure, Dak is superior to Foles, Flacco and broken down Peyton. Is that what we are going for?

We need to stop deluding ourselves that this “above average” teams we keep putting out there will get over the hump. We need our real franchise QB.

We are tied to Dak for a few more years so I guess the discussion should head to how can we get better?

Draft a QB early, cut Zeke, and then trade players where you can extract value, such as Diggs and Pollard, and saturate DB, RB and WR with new young talent in numbers via draft and FA.

The offense needs to get better but you don’t need to get it from another Lamb at 22nd overall. You need to hit on multiple picks but the guys don’t all need to be stud #1 WRs or lead every down RBs. You need multiple pieces to infuse the offense with speed and supporting talent.

You need to find YOUNG TY Hilton, who was a fourth round pick.

2021, Wentz $34M hit out of $185M cap is 18%
2023, Prescott $40M hit out of $220M cap is 18%

Roseman drafted Jalen Hurts in 2020 2nd round that shocked many. Had the guts to prepare for what Jerruh/Stephen likely won't

Now Roseman somehow weaseled a first for Wentz. Doubt Jerruh can do the same.

But Roseman made a series of moves to transition from "faux-franchise QB" to a great team surrounding a non-elite QB.

the offense is in need of lots of change, and until we realize this and do something about it, its is the best were gonna get from them.

We should have let Dak walk two years ago and held our nose with Andy Dalton while we looked for a franchise QB.

But we’re here.

Well, we were repeatedly told that was the going rate for a starting qb.

even if we can’t trade Prescott we need to draft a QB in the 1st-3rd round.

What was Wentz' contract that accelerated into the cap, making that the new number? Not just the one year salary.

So that number includes his accelerated money, right? Dak's 40 mil per season, does not. The rest of his guaranteed money would come due immediately, right? And if both of these are correct, then their 18% you brought up would not still be the same. Because Daks 18% is only his salary as it stands now. And doesn't include the rest pushed forward along with it if he's cut or traded.

Like if you could get a third and a fourth for Pollard I would do that all day instead of franchising him.

One thing is for sure: he will not be worth what he is asking for. Rbs are rarely worth 2nd contracts. You'd think we would've learned that by now. Reinvest that money in the O line and the Dline

Absolutely. Especially coming off a broken fibula.
