Training camp expectations flashback:

Larry Lacewell said Shante Carver reminded him of Charles Haley.

So ridiculous that you're only allowed 16 padded practices but you can't get close to doing even that many,
This is why the 1st 3 or 4 games of the regular season is really like PS games. Don't see the real team until weeks 4 to 6.
When they had 6 PS games and always padded practice and 2 a days in TC. They were ready game 1.

Not really concerned with all the minor tweaks or soreness from players. EXCEPT for Tyron, this is not good.

I actually watched that Break show where they talked about the players at OTAs. Kind of interesting. They said McGovern did get every single first team snap at LG. Like they were saying, makes you wonder why Tyler Smith didn't get any reps at LT with Tyron out?

Also said Ball did get some snaps at LT. (Like they said, he and Waletzgo look a lot alike from a distance.)

As we've heard, Golston looked good. Helman insisted they see him strictly as a DT now, no more DE for him. That seems weird. They didn't talk about it, but where does that leave Gallimore, is is going to play some 1T now?

Said Bell did look really good even aside from the long pick six. Said he's stood out pretty much every day.

Eatman said he probably wasn't supposed to say this, but Sam Williams was getting moved around some almost like Parsons was last year.

Eatman also said whoever was the top WR still available, he'd sign him now because of the situation there. Washington is in a boot and they won't talk about what's wrong with him, which doesn't sound good when they had no problem saying Tolbert just had a slight hamstring and was still moving around pretty well in drills.

Talked about how the second year guys are still trying to carve out roles on defense and now these rookies are also. Going to be some tough roster cuts on defense, it seems like.

They were supposed to talk about a few more players but they got stuck on the school shooting, guns, etc. for like the last 15 minutes. :doh

People are making way too big of a deal about where the rookies fall on the depth chart right now. It's pretty normal practice to make these guys earn it. Smith will be your starting LG by camp. So on and so fourth. Like Ferguson was running as the fourth TE and I saw where they made a big deal out of it. But no you can't just plug a rookie fourth round pick above your vets. It will piss players off.

But guess who filled in For Tyron. Matt Waletzko, who apparently is already ahead of Ball.

Yeah I think they want to put Ball on the right side and let him work there. I think it's best to have a young guy stay in one spot and learn as opposed to training them all over the place simply because Tyron needs a rest day.

Also why I'm glad they didn't just kick Tyler Smith out to LT. Let the poor kid learn LG before you start moving him around. That's where he will start. Not at LT just yet.

Sudden thought, whatever happened to making Fehoko a TE?
