I highly doubt Brady said, "I don't want Super Bowl winning player's coach Bruce Arians, give me completely unproven defensive coach Todd Bowles." Brady has also in the past referred to Arians as a great friend.

Arians is a 69 year old cancer survivor who already had to retire once due to health a few years ago. I don't think it goes any deeper than that.

I bet there's a female coach who would have liked a go at this position, but the NFL apparently is a good ol' boy network.

Is he really stepping down if he is moving to a front office position. That’s like stepping down from supervisor to go to HR or IT.
