They have the second most cap dollars in the league, but sure, they have to go cheap and stuff.
they had a plan
it was gregory
except stephen the loser had to try to get a little cute and tried to chisel at the end, and lost the deal
now they have no option because they are not going to pay 20 million
so we are stuck with retreads

If that's your plan you either need to get it done before free agency or have a plan B. There is no plan B because they are terrified of free agency.

jerry was really good at closing the deal with good players
stephen is really good at pissing off good players

It seems like Stephen steps in like a hard-ass knowing daddy will come in to close and Jerry is getting tired to do more than he absolutely has to, given his age, and it's affecting their strategy.

Stephen has always seemed like a lazy strategist to me.
"Deadlines make deals"
Lol.
No bro. Deadlines start with the word dead and that's where you are if you don't close in this type of arena.

And yet neither actually talked to Gregory's agent. Stephen treated our prized big free agent resigning to and underling.
i dont know if i should be happy with that or unhappy with that
i dont want star players to have to deal with the bean counter
but i am not sure if an employee that the bean counter approves of is any better

Luckily most NFL teams have spent their money so there probably isn't much competition for Kearse if any.
I just think they are being deliberately cheap at this stage.

You give the guy a one year prove it deal, he proves it.

Now it's haggling time. Just dumb.

I am not saying overpay him. but I bet what we are offering is basically some dirt deal that they hope he is stupid and takes.

The guy has been a poverty player for his entire career. He is looking for some love.
