Looks are deceiving, like when the Rams managed to sign two impact vets while retaining a decent amount of their own internal FA's with barely any cap space.

While Scrooge McDuck Jones over here is just fellating himself over the 20+ million we have in space as he signs a handful of nothing FA's for 1.25 million/year each.

They. Aren't. Serious. About. Winning.

The comments to Archer in the tweet addressed this so I just hope he reads them.

Wagner and Tretter put us in Super Bowl contention?

I don't agree with that.
No but it helps. I think Wagner could help this defense be better than they were last year. I don't think that is much of a leap. We have a shit ton of draft picks going into their second year all improving. We return everyone who matters but Gregory. So adding Wagner to me gives us potentially a more playoff caliber defense and potentially an elite one.

But the offense even with Tretter would worry me. We would still be weak on the Oline with no real LG and an aging LT and inexperienced Steele.

We would still be weak at WR with Lamb Gallup and umm scrubs. Pollard and Zeke probably won't be any better than last season. So ultimately it would still require a killer draft to put us in a Superbowl potential conversation. But Wagner and Tretter would get us closer.

Tretter is interesting. Supposedly no one wants him because he is the players association president and they are afraid he would kind of be a rat in the locker room. Sort of basically challenging a teams potential authority when they tell players to do things. Not sure if that's a valid concern or not.

Personally I'm not worried about our defense at all. Gut feeling tells me our offense is going to be a serious problem.
I definitely agree. An offense that started to struggle down the stretch has significantly down graded talent. At this point their only hope is nailing the draft otherwise I could easily see this offense taking a serious tumble.
