So to start the season you have Lamb, Washington and Noah Brown as your starting receivers. And you don't think that's a need? Outside of Lamb our other WRs on the roster combine for 470 yards last season. Literally outside of Lamb that's the total production from all the other WRs on the roster who will be healthy from last season.
So no Washington isn't a third WR. The guy just isn't. I hope he is a good player but his production gives us no indication that he is a capable third receiver. Brown is well just trash. And obviously you're including Gallup. Who admittedly I like but he isn't even going to be on the active roster to start the season. The guys rehab is behind and he is probably missing the first month or two of the season. And when he does finally return, I don't expect him to be the old Gallup right away. It's going to take time. So in my book even when he is back he probably needs to be your third WR.
All of that is my way of saying WR is a huge need. Unless you think Lamb can just carry the offense we are in for a huge train wreck to start next season without help. And the relief isn't going to come from a washed up Zeke in the run game.
no one knows for sure Gallup's missing game 1-3 he might an dyes if you cant find run game with PA pass scheme for Lamb and washing ton and schultz id say keeping KM was a mistake..theres more to the nfl then having 4 wr pass happy sets..
i also said picking a WR is not dire but still getting a nice quality slot guy with speed mid rounds somewhere is all we need..didn't say ignore it saying its not a desperate time to go after a 1st round wr and its a fact.
may team can play with One quality starting WR and scheme them open or have other players like schultz, pollard, and Washington get 1-1 and catch balls..
More is the bigger concern to me..hope MM has a lot more input , more balance and being able to actually scheme players open.
