Maybe one or two draft choices and none in the first two rounds I bet.
I mean we have 9 picks so some should go to the defense. But ultimately this draft will probably favor the offense. Last year we made 6 picks on defense last year before selecting our first offensive player. I'd be shocked if things didn't swing back in the other direction. Just from a numbers standpoint the defense has a lot of younger guys on rookie contracts as a result of the 2021 NFL draft.

We still have significant defensive needs I think.

We do. Pass rusher is the biggest in my opinion. I know some will put LBer up there too but I don't think the team views it that way. I think they love Cox.

But does it really matter if we use three 5ths at D?

We are going heavy offense with the premium picks unless something weird happens.

Oh hell by the fourth round I don't care what position a player plays. Just get me anyone who can play in the NFL. I mean at that point in the draft if you can find a player who is good the position no longer matters to me.

At that size. Yes, please.

He will be intimidating to safeties trying to stop him.

Keep your glorified WRs pretending to be TEs. If I am spending a quality choice on one, I am going after a freak.
I like him have seen him play Dot sure where he will be drafted

Our track record in the 5th is abysmal.

You seem to think that we draft well there.

I don't, I actually can't remember our last good fifth round pick? I was trying to think of decent fifths and I was thinking Cedric Wilson and Woods were at least sort of decent players. But nope, sixth round picks.

Our last good fifth round pick. Orlando Scandrick? We have done better in the sixth which makes no sense. But you can find players in the fifth. Other teams do.

If things go the way things look, we will draft a TE in the first three rounds.

If so, Woods over Kolar. That Otten stuff better be due diligence.

And even more so for the Wedermyer shit.

I'm not as picky as you. Most of those TEs are kind of the same to me. Turner, Kolar, Ferguson, Woods or Otton. All kind of the same to me. Maybe Turner is the best of them, I don't know. Dulcich, McBride and Ruckert are all guys I expect to be the first TEs taken and I honestly don't know that I love them more than the others either.

Basically no reason to me to take a TE in the second or third. I don't think there is much difference between those guys and the ones we would get in the fourth or fifth round.

I kind of like Cole Turner. And he was more productive as a receiver than your body beautiful love child from Virginia.
We shall see. Turner is not horrible.

It is just contingent on how bad we want to scratch the itch.

You can have your gangly uncoordinated guy in the 5th or 6th.

Yeah I'm starting to worry they really want to scratch the itch. And I get it to some extent. I don't think they plan in actually getting a long term deal done with Schultz and want real options a year down the road. I'm just worried that we are locked in right now to Guard, WR and TE in the first 3 rounds. I hate it, because we are just going to force picks that way. Sort of like we were dead set on corner last year. Missed our guys in the first so in the second it was corner no matter what. And in the end we only used the 3 corners already on the roster for the most part.
