The crazy part is they could just put a chip in the ball and know for certain everytime. They wont do that because they like the goaline excitement. Not only that who cares if the ball moves when he goes over the goaline. Until the ball comes all the way out it shouldnt be a fumble. The NFL creates crazy rules for every other situation ala Tuck rule and the Dez catch.

What about the next play?
Bro watch that play. I have no idea if Diggs was trying to avoid colliding with the safety, but he wasn’t really beat at all. He didn’t bite real hard on the double love and was right with him until it looked like he thought the safety was going to make a play, or maybe he was thinking tip drill mode.

I thought he was beaten badly, but just watched it a few times, he’s there the whole way and bails at the last second.

Against Belichick you really can't give a crap about style points as long as you get the W.
Exactly. Which is why I hated some of the risky decisions today. You can get away with that stuff vs 95% of the league but when you're going against Belichick you have to be smart.

That means play the field position game and take the FG when you're in a one possession game with plenty of time left in the game.

The Patriots offense isn't explosive and they have a rookie QB. There was no reason, IMO, to coach as if we were playing the Chiefs.

The safety fucked that up royally. I'm guessing it was Kazee not sure. He was late, took a terrible angle and flew past the receiver for no reason.. But I guess the advantage was it left us plenty of time.

Our coaches went after Belichick's throat today. I'm not complaining at all. We should have beaten them by 10+ if it hadn't been for the refs.

Yup.

He's actually in the same position as he was last week to make the same sort of play on the ball but he just stood there.

He seems like a smart guy so I'm sure he'll learn that you can't just assume that your teammate is going to make the right play.

The next time you're in position to make a play on the ball yourself, just do it.

Still not sure what the fuck the safety was doing. He had no one else to cover. Just made zero sense.

I agree. Some questionable calls today.
They've been mostly sharp this season otherwise, but they have a lot to clean up (great time to have a bye week).
On another note, I believe the offense was missing Gallup today.

It almost looked like he was handing off to the safety and didn't want to cause a collision. Has anyone heard anything on the corner we drafted in the second last year? Were a legit corner away from locking down the back end. AB would be a great third corner.

The refs and poor redzone offense.

Yes, the refs screwed us, but we really sucked running in short yardage today because our interior line didn't get any real push today.

That's why those red zone possessions were more difficult than they should have been and why in the 2nd half we were running jet sweeps and plays like that in short yardage instead of conventional running plays.
