Why is it terrible — You like hip hop but hate the artists? Or you hate hip hop in general?Terrible halftime show coming. But hey, it’s about that narrative.
Yes.Or you hate hip hop in general?
Im not the biggest hip hop fan for sure. I think its about the racial equity narrative, you've seen it play out across all the media outlets where the narrative is now to promote black culture, black artists, etc. It's everywhere, Mr Phil. How is it about a narrative?
If there's such a thing as a themed Super Bowl halftime, Red Hot Chili Peppers are from Los Angeles and have just as much, if not more, of a name.Yes.
Ive had it on for a while now. Its good stuff, lots o history.Anyone watching any amount of pregame?
Call me weird or a sucker, but I still like watching pregame.
I hate going to Super Bowl parties and having all sorts of people blah blah blahing over it. I don't enjoy Super Bowl parties.
I miss the era when they'd play the 30 minute Super Bowl highlights from SBI to present overnight.

I agree that there's narrative around, but this isn't playing the nobody-knows-it-exists Black National Anthem before games, just like not every black hired at work is a narrative. Hip hop is firmly American mainstream, even worldwide, and today's performers are the biggest names in this genre.Im not the biggest hip hop fan for sure. The NFL was doing this regardless of Halftime performance. Do you know how black Meghan Trainor is? She's one of the three advocates.
the NFL and NBC are about the message for sure, especially with the latest Brian Flores lawsuit.I agree that there's narrative around, but this isn't playing the nobody-knows-it-exists Black National Anthem before games, just like not every black hired at work is a narrative. Beyonce performed a couple years ago...didn't Missy Elliott perform previously, too? I made the themed remark earlier because Dre and Snoop are very much Los Angeles and thought local flavor had something to do with this selection, too. So, when this show was announced, I didn't think it was narrative but seemed appropriate.
not familiar with her aside from her name. I know her shitty music. The NFL was doing this regardless of Halftime performance. Do you know how black Meghan Trainor is? She's one of the three advocates.
I agree they are pushing a message, but I don't think this halftime performance is part of that. This isn't the first time black people have performed at halftime. If Ru Paul and her/his band of merry men start strutting on stage, I'll change my mind.the NFL and NBC are about the message for sure, especially with the latest Brian Flores lawsuit.
