Regarding the lack of music at practice I wonder if that has anything to do with the lack of fans.

I'm sure part of the reason that music was played in the past was to keep the fans energized and engaged.

One area that I'm interested in seeing the new staff address is the read and recognition skills of our LBs. Outside of Sean Lee it felt like our LBs were always a step slow diagnosing plays. Especially Jaylon Smith.

Somethings been missing when it comes to picking up their keys.

Certainly with Jaylon.

I'm optimistic because I think they have actual coaches on staff who know how to coach linebackers. It was Mike Nolan last job in New Orleans and I think he did a good job there. And I think George Edwards has experience there as well. In fact, I think it was him that I saw coaching the 'backers in the opening day video.

The sound of silence: A noticeable change for the Cowboys is the music. Under Jason Garrett, music was played during team and sometimes individual drills. But with new coach Mike McCarthy, music is played during breaks and not for very long.

McCarthy's PC's are actually interesting to listen to because in certain instances he provides real answers with actual introspective/critical thought behind them, similar to Parcells, as opposed to Garrett's empty platitude bullshit that he spouted almost on demand.

For example, yesterday or the day before McCarthy talked about how given the circumstances he's not as concerned about the players physical talent but getting them ready mentally (football IQ, situational decision-making, schemes, etc.) and emotionally to compete.

Basically, he wants the team to be smart and prepared mentally. That's not an answer we would've gotten out of Garrett in the past.

Just saw a tweet from Rapoport about an injury to McCoy? Sorry, unable to post tweets for some reason.

EDIT: Never mind, there it is!

Fuck.

We finally address the position and this happens.

Hopefully it's a Marcus Spears 2005 camp scare and nothing more.
