Honest question; would anybody here consider trading Zeke to gain cap space if it meant having to throw in a sixth- rounder for a team to take that contact off our hands?

Sure, I'd be willing to, but I highly doubt we would find a willing suitor.

Maybe not, but at this point I'd even be willing to give up a couple of (fifth round or lower) picks to do it.
Maybe a team with a ton of cap space and a promising young QB would bite since we'd literally be paying them draft Capitol to "salary dump" Zeke.

Wouldn't we lose cap space if we trade him?
Depends on if a rework of the contract is part of the deal. Actually, it would depend on a lot. But, the discussion is moot. No one is taking a declining RB on a massive contract plus having to give up draft capital.

Actually, my hypothetical had US trading late draft Capitol to move Elliott, with the idea of clearing cap space going forward.
But it looks like it might not "clear cap space" quite as well as I thought.
Jumped the gun a bit, I guess? 😅

So, your scenario would have us trading Elliott and a pick and get nothing back but moving Elliott?

EDIT: After I worked the numbers, I'm amending my post.

If we cut Zeke post June 1st this offseason,
We would have 9,600,000 of dead money in 2021 and 14,900,000 in 2022, but
we would save 4,100,000 against the cap in 2021 and 1,600,000 in 2021.

So you could do it. God I would hate eating eating that 9,600,000 in guaranteed salary. Eeeessshhh.

Wait, Dez played today? Thought he had covid? For that matter I thought he quit.
