Coughlin, absolutely.Higher than Mike Holmgren, Tom Coughlin?
Not Holmgren, though.
His (Holmgren) resumé is hard to beat.

Yeah, I know they switched the rule. To see it actually enforced correctly is the point.Yep. They switched the rule now.
Steelers get all the calls, don't they?Yeah, I know they switched the rule. To see it actually enforced correctly is the point.
Although, if it were the Bengals offense against the Steelers' defense in the 4th quarter of a tight game, I wonder...
Coughlin, absolutely.
How absolutely fucked up, but totally Cowboys, would it be to finish 8-7 and lose the division on Week 17 to the GiantsWK 17 might be a repeat of 1993. I wonder how many yards Zeke can get with a separated shoulder.
Coughlin is a HOF coach, certainly.Interesting...so Eli Manning gets HOF credit for "beating" Brady twice (ahem, defense), but Coughlin gets none for actually beating Belichick twice.
Coughlin has more total wins, Super Bowl wins than Cowher and Coughlin had success with two teams.
Philly really fucked us with their collapse. They haven't had enough injuries to explain it.How absolutely fucked up, but totally Cowboys, would it be to finish 8-7 and lose the division on Week 17 to the Giants
no playoffs and pick around #20
Coughlin took over an expansion team and succeeded with Brunell and ManningCoughlin is a HOF coach, certainly.
But he's not a better coach than Tomlin, IMO.
He has two rings, sure.
He also has a 53% career winning percentage and has as many 8-8 or worse seasons as he does winning seasons.
Meanwhile Tomlin has a ring, two Super Bowl appearances and has never had a losing record.
And boasts a 65.7% career winning percentage.
Not to mention he's coaching a 10-0 team at the moment.
redeemedWitten with the false start from the 2-inch line and the game on the line.![]()
By barely catching a one yard pass with a DE in man coverage...redeemed
Good on Tom for succeeding with less than elite QBs.Coughlin took over an expansion team and succeeded with Brunell and Manning
Tomlin took over a recent Super Bowl winner and has only coached Roethlisberger.
I'm not even sure what I'm rooting for at this point but just look at these schedules remaining for the rest of the division:
Skins: at DAL, at PIT, at SF, SEA, CAR, at PHI
Eagles: SEA, at GB, NO, at ARI, at DAL, WAS
Giants: at CIN, at SEA, ARI, CLE, at BAL, DAL
6 wins is the absolute ceiling for any of them and it's probably 50/50 at best that any of them manage to get there. Even if we lose Thursday we probably only need to beat the Bengals (auto-win, especially if it's a Dalton homecoming) and the Eagles/Giants at the end of the year to take it.
We are the only team left with 3 divisional games, which is of course a positive given how shit it is, plus an auto-win against the Bengals. On top of that, we're the only one who actually has any sort of an impressive win outside the division against a legit team. There have only been 4 wins outside the division all year; the Skins beat Cincy but only after Burrow went out, the Eagles beat the 49ers with Garropolo out, and we beat the Falcons (fluke) but now have a win against an actual NFL team with their starting QB in the Vikings.
Funnily enough we're still in the 4 spot in the draft and if we lose to the Skins and Ravens the odds of us winning the division might be roughly equal as the odds of us getting a top 5 pick.
