Dak can get a taste of what life will be like when he's making 40/year. Let's see what he can do without 5 Pro Bowlers surrounding him on offense.

I mean, yea, the OL is going to more or less suck and the defense is what it is, but he still has the best WR trio in the league and a top RB, Russell Wilson has been dealing with a shit OL for about 6 years.

So let's see it, and if not, I'll take the 6th pick.

That's how I feel. Is Ochoa trying to make Dak sound like some kind of poor disadvantaged victim?

This is more like what life is like for most NFL QBs. You don't get incredible talent at every position like Dak had his first few years.

If we end up picking in the 15-22ish range I'd like to draft a guy like Trey Smith or Rashawn Slater who can replace Williams at LG and potentially kick out to LT if/when Smith is done.

This is pretty retarded. I guess Ochoa thinks he's making a good point, but it's actually the opposite.

This is exhibit A why we need to pay Dak or any QB as little as we can reasonably manage to do.

That extra handful of millions a year can make a big difference in the quality of backup OLineman you can sign, and it can help your defense too.

Don't want to carry the team on your back by yourself Dak? Don't try and squeeze every red cent you can out of the team and they can afford to field a defense and quality depth.
Except KC just did that.

100 bucks Jones just found out who he was this morning.
I did a quick search when I heard that they had signed him and I probably know more than Jerry! :lol

He was a late round 'traits pick' former basketball player. He had like two years of football when the Ravens drafted him. That said, he's passed through some quality teams so the league has seen something in him. Drafted by Baltimore, he was then with the Chiefs and then the Browns (and Bill Callahan).

But I'd call him a lump of clay that might be molded under the right conditions. But he's also been hurt a few times, stunting his development. I certainly wouldn't count on him this year.

On a side note, did we ever hear about the injury to OT Mitch Hyatt?

EDIT: Never mind, I saw that it's a torn ACL and he's on the Cowboys IR list. Join the club!

If Lawrence was Luck 2.0, then maybe. And call me crazy, but not even Burrow (who I absolutely loved/love) was on that level as a prospect. He’s been the closest thing since, but Luck out of Stanford was unreal.

I like Lawrence, but not that much. Maybe my scouting eye is off on this, but he isn’t a surefire can’t-miss type.
Shit I’d take Lawrence in a heartbeat over Dak.
The kid can make every throw you need, has prototypical size and has wheels to get out of the pocket and get a first down.
Problem is our braintrust is so stupid they’d never make the deal to blow this team up and start over. Ol Jer thinks he’s just a lucky bounce away from contending for one of them thar Supa bowwllss. Fucking morons.

I'm not sure, I remember them having some pretty awful defenses. Probably not as bad as ours is playing right now but pretty bad.
The Packers D might have had 1 or 2 seasons where they were mediocre with Rodgers at the helm but I think when he started cranking it up their D was solid in general.
I’m not sure theres many teams in the last 10 years that’s been as horrific on D as this 2020 Cowboys D.

So why hasn't he?
no shit, Jerry. Theyre running Steele's pedestrian ass out at RT, while a highly regarded draft choice gathers dust. Give us answers, you old fuck

I don't ever remember the defense being this pathetic with Romo.
the 2014 playoff loss to Green Bay. A gimped up, one legged Aaron Rogers had ALL DAMN DAY to make shit happen. We could'nt stop them from scoring, and even if Dez had been given the TD, Im positive Rogers would have ass raped us in the end. Defense was a definite problem and weakness.
