I feel like the media will be a lot less accommodating to Stephen than they are to Jerry. He doesn’t have the skins on the wall, and outside of what he’s failed to do for the Cowboys, the league itself has greatly benefited from his presence.

Once the mediocrity continues after he passes, will Stephen have the thick skin to go year after year being ridiculed and mocked for not hiring a real GM? At this point, he is far too incorporated into the football aspect for that sort of change to happen quickly, but we can only pray he isn’t as stubborn as his old man.

Maybe with Jerry gone, it gets better, or it gets worse. Either way, i’m dying to figure out what it is at this point.

For now, the goal isn’t to eliminate Jones Family ownership. It’s not even neessarily for Jerruh to die.

It’s just to hire a real GM.

The hope is that Stephen Jones is less narcissistic and ego-driven than Jerruh about getting 100% credit as a football guy.

I don’t see the similarity at all. The Cowboys were a low grade non competing group of athletes. The talent level was down because Bright siphoned off the teams incomes to try to keep his banks alive. The quality os the banks assets was poor and required constant financial injection. Both organizations suffered but eventually Bright had to Mack a decision as to which one he had to sell and it was the football team.

With Jones the franchise is heavily backed and financially sound so the price is going to be high but the contingency of Jones business talent has a lot to do with that evaluation. The good thing is the franchise can still generate healthy sums because of their nationwide fan base. With new owners and managers the Franchise can continue to keep revenues strong by becoming top performers as a team.
