I had heard some rumblings that McCarthy and the Cowboys expressed some early interest in Daniels, but his asking price at the time wasn't higher than their offer. They ultimately went with Poe instead. It looks like his price tag came down a bit. The Bengals needed someone in the middle after their initial free agent target (Billings if I remember correctly) decided to opt out for this year.
