Does he even stand a chance? :lol

Has anyone in the history of the league had a successful appeal at the league level?

Best I can recall is Scandrick going from 4 to 2 games even though he was clearly in the right.
Certainly not since they put the same guy in charge of handing out suspensions and hearing appeals

With so many players out this past game and the severity of injuries not really known, can the writers make a projection, on both sides of the ball, of who will be back and potentially who will miss when we return to real football?

Bryan: I feel like the majority of the players that sat out Sunday will likely to be back with the bye this week. The ones that I am not so sure about is DeMarcus Lawrence and Morris Claiborne.

David: I know the injury report from last week was intimidating, but I don’t think the Cowboys are in too bad of shape. The offense should be fine, as Tyron Smith and Ron Leary are expected back for the playoffs. I also think Terrell McClain, Cedric Thornton, Tyrone Crawford and Justin Durant should be good to go. If there’s two guys that give me pause, it’s probably DeMarcus Lawrence and Morris Claiborne. I’m also curious about Randy Gregory’s appeal. I’m not optimistic he’ll be available when game day rolls around.

Just to keep myself grounded as much as anything, the last time we played on January 15th was the '94 NFCC loss to the Niners.

Honestly I don't even care one way or the other if Lawrence is able to play. He's been pretty meh all year anyway.

They won't miss him.

Garrett said in his PC everyone including Claiborne will be ready for the playoffs.

Claiborne too, eh. That's good to hear. Hopefully the injury didn't regress him to the 2012-2014 Mo Claiborne.

Yeah that's really the concern with him. With that type of injury I'd have to think he's going to be favoring something when he's out on the field, especially after being on record of telling everyone how much pain he was in after he got hurt.

Supposedly he has been basically running without any problems for a couple weeks now. So hopefully he is really 100%.

Garrett Updates The Cowboys’ Injury Situation Leading Into The Playoffs
Monday, January 02, 2017 4:24 PM CST
By Rob Phillips

@robphillips3

FRISCO, Texas – Good news for the Cowboys leading into the playoffs: they returned home from Sunday’s regular-season finale at Philadelphia “pretty clean” on the injury front, head coach Jason Garrett said Monday.

With the No. 1 playoff seed already clinched, running back Ezekiel Elliott and linebacker Sean Lee were rested during Sunday’s 27-13 loss to the Eagles. Guard Ronald Leary (back) also was active but did not play. The Cowboys gave limited snaps to the majority of their starters.

Injuries were a factor entering the finale. Seven players, including five starters, were inactive due to injury: left tackle Tyron Smith, cornerback Morris Claiborne, defensive end Tyrone Crawford, defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence, defensive tackle Terrell McClain, defensive tackle Cedric Thornton and linebacker Justin Durant. The team’s upcoming bye week offers more rest time before their Jan. 15 divisional round game against an opponent to be determined.

Garrett said injured players such as Claiborne are improving and the team will evaluate their status day by day. The team is scheduled to practice on Thursday and Friday this week.

Garrett also was asked about the possible availability of guard La’el Collins, who has been on injured reserve since early October with a big toe injury that required surgery. Teams are permitted to activate one player from injured reserve during the season once he has been on IR for at least six weeks. The Cowboys would have to make a roster move to move Collins back to the 53-man roster.

“He’s worked very hard to come back and we’re going to give him every chance to do that,” Garrett said. “We’re certainly hopeful at some point that he’ll be able to come back this season.”

Dont want to rain on any parades, but there's not really any firm info on Claiborne being a go
for this first game or any others we might play.
