Its like an early Christmas present.
Still not confirmed but I know for a fact that Hocutt is addressing the media tomorrow and then is being escorted out of town afterwards. Don't have any clue what that's about. Unless Hocutt is going, too. Another name that came up in the convo was Briles.

His buyout is 9.5 million. Hometown boy gets another chance.

That would make me happy. Not only will it provide another year of lulz around here, but I didn't want to see him go to Houston and keep the Cougs rolling.

My guess right now is that if Washington wins the Pac-12, Clemson wins the ACC, Bama wins the SEC, and Wisconsin wins the Big 10, then Ohio State and USC will face off in the Rose Bowl, and Michigan will go to the Cotton Bowl.

There is a 0.0% chance 2-loss Wisconsin goes to the playoff over 1-loss Ohio St. who beat them.

The committee puts a lot of stock in conference champions but the Buckeyes are one of the teams tha is in the sweetheart slot for pollsters.

Assuming Penn State beats Wisconsin in the Big 10 title game.....

If the playoff committee puts a 1-loss Ohio State team into the playoffs instead of a 1-loss and Big 10 Champion Penn State team who BTW beat Ohio State in a head-to-head game, the system is officially rigged to favor the prestigious programs.

I just can't wrap my mind around how they can justify discounting Penn State's victory over them on the field. When it comes down to tie-breakers between two teams, head-to-head games should ALWAYS trump the "what if" scenarios of the playoff committee.

I know Ohio State is currently in the top 4 and will remain there this week after beating Michigan, but I'd drop them out and put Penn State in. They did it to TCU & Baylor in 2014 so a precedent has already been set. There are no guarantees if you don't play during Conference Championship Weekend.

I can appreciate great defense and I have a pretty keen eye when it comes to identifying great defense vs poor offense.

The bulk of that Michigan/Ohio State game was poor, conservative offense. It was as if both sides were playing it safe, waiting for the other side to make a mistake.

I agree on all points but the Buckeyes will be given preferential treatment.

I think there is a possibility two Big Ten teams make it in the playoffs. Pretty crazy really that a team like Ohio State can have only one loss and still not make the conference championship game. Nothing wrong with it but its a pretty rare scenario.

I can't imagine the Big 10 champ being left out but anything is possible.

On a similar note, if Alabama were to lose in the SEC Championship Game, I don't think they should still be a lock to get in. However pretty much all the analysts want to just hand them a playoff spot rather than judging them fairly.

Their resume isn't that much better than anyone else's. Their best win was against a 3-loss USC team, but as usual they're getting extra credit for beating a bunch of 4 and 5 loss SEC teams. The old "they're beating up on each other" excuse.

If Alabama were to lose and Washington were to beat Colorado, I'd argue that the Huskies should be in the playoffs and Bama should be left out. A win over Colorado is better than anything on Bama's schedule.

Penn state has 2 losses but otherwise I agree completely.

Penn state's head to head win over Ohio state plus a conference championship "should" get them in over Ohio state. The only question remaining should be whether Ohio state gets in over the pac 10 winner.

Of course, it gets more muddied if Wisconsin wins, because Ohio state beat Wisconsin.
