I didn't even watch the game. I am happy NDSU got their first ever tourney win, and the money to go along with it. But honestly, I'm not much of a basketball fan anymore. NDSU football and UND Hockey. Other than that, I don't really follow college sports with a rooting interest. That comment was taken out of context.
I don't think it's a philosophical thing. Coach K has had some pretty hard-nosed players in the past. Being too reliant on the 3 today definitely hurt them. They were making them in the first half but they still only had a small lead. Rodney Hood was soft today, though.Duke is so soft as fuck and over-reliant on the 3 point shot, they have the ability to rack up elite talent but they often times end up having a roster that is basically a mid major on steroids. That will change next year with Okafor but it's a philosophical thing, and he's one and done anyway.
It is philosophical, the last 5-10 years it seems he values 3 point shooting above all else. You don't see elite physical talents (collegiately speaking) like Deng, Boozer, Maggette, Jay Williams, etc. that they had back in the 90's/very early 00's. Parker is on that level but the vast majority of these guys are basically just 3 point specialists.I don't think it's a philosophical thing. What, no folksy story about how the coach's wife cooked you a delicious apple pie?Mercer is my alma mater.
Yes, this will be the only time I post in this thread.
Unless they win again.
