Smitty is willing to draft him, but only in the right situationI'll wait until Smitty weighs in on this before I give my opinion

And Favre...We have already seen his style of play and how it ends up via Vick, RG 111, etc. Sandlot styles just don't blend with pro systems.
It works - for a little while. And then the hits quickly start to mount up and they aren't as mobile or as durable as they used to be. Mobile quarterbacks seem to have a 1-2 year lifespan if they can't convert to be mainly pocket passers. It might be interesting to see a team try to just stream thorugh them like running backs becuase when they are healthy they are almost unstoppableAnd Favre...
His style was different. He would move around a lot but he didn't cross the line of scrimmage very much. Usually the ball would be delivered from behind the line not kept and run with it. Manzeil and the others I mentioned will hold the ball and run until they take a hit.And Favre...
The thing is Manziel does a great job of keeping his eyes down field. Most of the scrambling he does is to throw the ball. I know he piled up some decent rushing yards but this isn't a Vick type QB who does a read and then takes off and runs. He is a very different style QB then RGIII or Manziel. His style was different. He's going to be a top ten pick. Too many teams need QB's and outside of Bridgewater there aren't a ton of strong prospects. If Jake Locker, Blaine Gabbert, and Christian fricking Ponder could go 8th, 10th, and 12th then Manziel is definitely not getting past Clevelend at 4.The thing is Manziel does a great job of keeping his eyes down field. Don't forget that Bortles is likely right there with Bridgewater as the top QB.He's going to be a top ten pick. I don't question he will be drafted high, I just don't think he will have much longevity. He is slightly built and attempts things that will compromise him if he takes that game to the NFL. He can play, no question. He will have to change his style if he wants to last very long. Can he change? He's going to be a top ten pick. He is more Steve Young than Vick and if you watched him this year he was not as quick to give up on a play and run, so I say he can change.I don't question he will be drafted high, I just don't think he will have much longevity. Please read what I have posted again. I am no writing him off but I am saying He cannot survive physically in the NFL if he tries to continue his present style. The way he plays will land him on the bench with injuries. Someone will have to help him modify his instincts to avoid being battered. His physical make up is not conducive to a physical game. Steve Young was built like a running back and was better able to deal with a physical game by he was fortunate enough to modify his game quickly. It remains to be seen whether Manzeil will adjust quickly enough. if he doesn't he will end up like Vick, Griffin, etc. He is more Steve Young than Vick and if you watched him this year he was not as quick to give up on a play and run, so I say he can change.
You seem very quick to write him off and do not acknowledge his growth as a passer from the pocket.

I am weary of him lasting because of his size, but I saw him being a much better pocket passer and cutting down on his scrambles something you refuse to add into the equation.Manzeil will crumple like a baby rabbit when he lands in the NFL. He will make an initial splash but in time he will get battered like RG111.
You picked just one post to respond to. I fully explained my position in subsequent posts before you even responded.Did you write this?

Don't worry about him. He cherry picks posts all the time just to be contrary. He is the dumber version of Smitty. You picked just one post to respond to. I fully explained my position in subsequent posts before you even responded.
I picked the 1st thing you posted in this thread and its been your running commentary on Manziel, yes you have dialed it back a bit but you always lead with that. You picked just one post to respond to. I fully explained my position in subsequent posts before you even responded.
