:lol

I love some AP, but how he can keep bringing up the record with his numbers so far this year and his age is laughable.

Not gonna happen.
I always felt only Curtis Martin or maybe LT had a shot, really, and they didn't get close. Barry Sanders would have set a mark out of even Emmitt's reach had he not retired for apparently no reason other than he didn't want to play for Detroit anymore.

Vikings' Jared Allen worries Jerry Jones

November, 2, 2013

By Calvin Watkins | ESPNDallas.com

IRVING, Texas -- When the Vikings take on the Cowboys Sunday afternoon at AT&T Stadium, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said he's afraid of Minnesota defensive end Jared Allen.

On the season, Allen leads the Vikings with 4.5 sacks, tied for the team lead with 16 quarterback hurries and is third with 7.5 tackles for loss.

"The pass-rusher. Jared Allen. He’s just distinguished over the years and he has to be reckoned," Jones said on KRLD-FM. "Charles Haley was that way for us. DeMarcus Ware is that way for us now when we can have him on the field. But these offenses have to pinpoint a guy that, or if he’s there, they have to pinpoint someone who needs special attention. Allen is one of them.

"Of course, they’ve always had it seems like forever, big inside guys, big tackles. And so that defensive front needs to be slowed down and blocked, and of course Adrian Peterson is a freak in a positive way. ... He can impose production on a defense just because of his style, just his style, just the type of football player he is. So those guys are going to be hard to negotiate around to win this game."

In two career games, Allen has six tackles and two sacks with one forced fumble against the Cowboys. His best game, however, occurred when he played for the Kansas City Chiefs. Allen had five tackles and two sacks back in 2005.
