Tyler Smith was one of them, no idea who the short stocky guy is.

I appreciate the thought process of getting "running mates" to take pressure off our actual special players. That was one of main points of the offseason in terms of Parsons and Lamb.

Wonder how many teams have played 4 straight 10+ win teams, given the 17 game schedule now.

I generally agree but I still think they were a solid 10ish win team as opposed to the 14 or whatever they won. Their OL is really good, they have the WR's as you mention, and their front 7 is dangerous after adding Jonathan Allen and Hargrave, to go along with what they already had. So...

It all hinges on McCarthy but playing them doesn't scare me much, especially at home.

Sounds about right. The organization, much like the players, get fat and happy at the slightest bit of success. They've been shit on for months now so they'll probably have a pretty good season, followed up by some idiocy next offseason.

Wins? No chance unless there are a bunch of injuries or Schottenheimer is a complete lemon. I think we'll win between 8 and 11, if I had to bet I'd say 10-7 probably, maybe 9-8.

The good thing about the way the schedule is set up is that the first 6 games or so is pretty light with a bunch of gump QB's/offenses like the Giants, Jets, Panthers and arguably Bears. Since our biggest question mark right now is probably the health at CB, that works out relatively well.

Meh, not a big deal to me, especially if our OL is what I think it could be. The Skins are at least as much of a warm-weather team right now in my opinion with Daniels at QB and the type of offense they run, and of course the Giants likely won't be playing for shit by the last game of the year.

They should be playing out the string with an interim HC by that point, so playing them later in the year on the road is probably better than earlier in the year.

    LOL @ the Giants

Agreed, they were pretty shitty last year (relatively speaking) throughout the regular season and probably should've been like 10-7 if not for their ridiculous luck with blocked FG's and such. Their defense should still be very solid but they haven't done much to upgrade or bolster any part of...

True, they would make a number of cheap signings that largely didn't have much impact, but they didn't even bother with that last year. They gave Zimmer his pet cat in Kendricks to help run the defense and that was literally it.

    LOL @ the Giants

HC might be fired by November unless he can pull a rabbit out of his hat with Wilson.

They were pretty aggressive in 2023 as well trading for Cooks and Gilmore, it wasn't to the same extent as this season but even in other years they made several moves, even if they were largely cheap ones. Last year it was Kendricks and literally nothing until TC basically, that's not normal...

2025 NFL Draft - 1st Round Pick - Tyler Booker, OG, Alabama

I just got done watching a bunch of Booker from last year: Tennessee, Missouri, South Carolina, Georgia, LSU, Oklahoma, Auburn, Wisconsin and South Florida where he played LT. I even went back and watched a little 2023 for the hell of it (Georgia in the SECC and Michigan in the semifinal)...

We undoubtedly got guys who could start or at least be valuable rotational pieces, compared to last year when we signed Kendricks and basically nobody else of note. I guess Carl Lawson and Linval Joseph at the asscrack of TC dawn? Dante Fowler, Solomon Thomas, Kenneth Murray, Jack Sanborn...

I think last offseason was a bit of an outlier, they've never really been that apathetic about things. They might've been a bit more aggressive this offseason (prior to the Pickens trade) but I think that's closer to what we've seen out of them most years, aside from the unusually aggressive...

2025 NFL Draft - 5th Round Pick - Jaydon Blue, RB, Texas

Yea if he can hold onto the ball he's going to be a real home run hitter even if it's just on 10-12 touches a game.

2025 NFL Draft - 5th Round Pick - Jaydon Blue, RB, Texas

Yea Blue ran a 4.38 and has good size for a RB, he could conceivably be our starter at some point. Vaughn was never going to be more than a gadget change of pace guy even if he worked out. Blue is much closer to Pollard coming out than Vaughn.

I don't mind getting them in the opener, it's kind of a no lose situation unless we lose by like 20. A decent showing in a loss is fine considering all the turnover, and maybe we catch their defense struggling to adjust with so many personnel losses. And our best chance of beating them...
