Yea, I'd give up a 1 for him as well, no questions asked. Doubt the Jets would do it though. Will McDonald might be an interesting one there.

Looks like a big old brace on Revel's knee.

I generally agree with the only caveat being I wouldn't be too aggressive to make moves for just this year, it has to be something (or someone) that will make a difference for the next 2-4 years. Hendrickson is the perfect example, he'd be a nice boost this year, but he's also likely a half...

I'd give up a 2/3 for Simmons and worry about his contract when it's up in two years. Or extend him now and spread it out over the 2 years remaining, plus the 3-4 you extend him for, effectively making it a 5-6 year extension. We already have a solid starting DT duo but I'm just looking for...

I think it's probably just them negotiating through the media, it's not a coincidence that the specific team mentioned as reaching out is the highest profile team in the league with a recent influx of 1st rounders. I'm guessing there is interest on both sides in some form or fashion, but that's...

Trading for Simmons would be interesting, he's the caliber of player I'd want to be looking at in terms of age and quality, and I think there's space for all 3 in terms of him, Clark and Osa. Hard to see it though.

Not interested in Hendrickson unless it's very cheap, he'd be a 8 game rental.

If Slater or one of these other hangers-on around the team doesn't refute this in the next 12 hours or so it probably has legs. Who knows whether it'll happen or not but both the Pickens and Parsons trades had a good amount of smoke around them for a few days before they happened.

This could explain why they're interested, and why they might even overpay. Those cap hits are extremely reasonable for a player of his caliber.

That would be a straight up swindle considering Parsons and Crosby are very comparable players. In my opinion you win a deal that's effectively Parsons for Crosby, Clark and a 1. Throw in Pickens, who as far as we know is a 24-year-old top 10 WR in the league, and it's a complete swindle.

I just think it's very hard to quantify and rife with assumptions to get mad about trading for him now vs. later. Obviously if I knew I could get him for a 2/3 in March vs. a 1 now I'd do that, but that's impossible to know.

And I don't think this will change significantly in the next 2 years or so. If anything it might get easier as Stafford ages out with the Rams possibly being the best team in the conference.

So your assumption is that if he could be had for a 1 now, that he could be had for a 2 in March? Not saying that's exactly what it'd take, but that you think trading in season requires a premium of roughly an extra round or so?

Yep, plus Clark who is still a solid starter and arguably our best DT.

The point is not to trade for him for the next 3 months, he's under contract and in his prime for another 2-3 years after this season. The point is getting an elite defensive player who is a starting point to rebuild the defense into something that can compete for a SB over the next few years...

Dak - 2028 Lamb - 2028 Pickens - TBD but you have to assume he'll be re-signed through 2029 or something Turpin - 2027 Williams - TBD but RB's are fungible, plus he'll probably be re-signed Ferguson - 2029 Guyton - rookie deal through 2028 if desired Tyler Smith - 2029 Beebe - rookie deal...

    2025 Random Cowboys Stuff Thread

It's so hard to pin down what the strategy should be for the next few years, because right now Dak looks like an MVP candidate (as he did in 2023), our offense is pretty much entirely young and under contract, and the Lamb/Pickens duo looks like it could be truly special. So why not pour...

I'd love trading for Crosby, assuming we wouldn't have to give up more than a 1, even better if we can get away with something like a 2026 2nd and 2027 3rd, but I'd be more than happy to send them one of the GB 1's. He's 2 years older than Parsons but on a cheaper contract and is nearly as...

    2025 College Football Chatter

At this point when I'm looking at the draft I'm basically just looking at defensive players and then outliers. To the point above, a potential franchise QB is an outlier, but I also think Jeremiyah Love might also be an outlier that you have to consider if available at 15-20 or where ever we...
