At some point you're gonna have to pay Guyton, Kneeland, and Beebe.Gotta save that money for Dak, Ceede and Parsons. Meanwhile not extending Dak, Lamb or Parsons. The guy literally just spews bullshit.

This is what you have to do when you have a self imposed spending limit and have to explain it.That's the absurdity of it all. They are pissing down our leg and telling us it's raining.
That contract (and the overwhelming majority of RB contracts for that matter) is cap affordable for any team regardless of cap situation. It's absurd to suggest otherwise.
I'm all for not paying RBs. Totally ok with me. But if you go that route, you have to draft RBs. We haven't drafted one in the top 3 rounds since what, Zeke? The top 4 rounds since Pollard? Sure you took a late round flier on Deuce. Prior to that the last RB you drafted was Pollard. That's the absurdity of it all. They are pissing down our leg and telling us it's raining.

Actually, he has a point that those dominoes have to fall Dak-first.Gotta save that money for Dak, Ceede and Parsons. Meanwhile not extending Dak, Lamb or Parsons. The guy literally just spews bullshit.
Why do they have to fall? You can get the cap room now. You claim to know what the cap will be in the future. It's not that complicated.Actually, he has a point that those dominoes have to fall Dak-first.
Sure they haven’t done it yet, but they pretty much have to, right?
It's not just the Cowboy players. All professional athletes do this (minus Brady). It sounds good but just not realistic to expect it.Why do they have to fall? You can get the cap room now. You claim to know what the cap will be in the future. It's not that complicated.
You know I was watching a couple former Patriots players and they were talking about how all the players were underpaid on the team. And the reason the Patriots could do it was because Brady took less. Basically put pressure on all the other players to sort of take below market value. It led to a team with a lot of in between contracts but very few top of the market contracts. I wonder if part of the problem with the Cowboys is that they are led by Dak who milks every penny he can for a top dollar contract. As the leader of the team, the rest of the players sort of follow. Lamb's going to want the top of the market too then. Parsons is going to want top of the market too then. So on and so fourth.
But you can't just abandon the position all together like it doesn't matter. Those guys still matter.
I get the logic of not paying a second contract to a RB. But just like you value a WRs run after catch, RBs break tackles, they make guys miss, they get extra yards with their running ability. Yes the blocking up front may be more important but I also think it's silly to pretend like all RBs are the same. They aren't. They just have short shelf lives. But at least you can draft a RB in the third round and get a 4 year starter as opposed to a Chauncy Golston or Wright who gives you zero years as a starter.Exactly. This is exactly what I said when they let Murray go.
Fine, I get the logic. But you have to replace the guy. You can't just throw your hands up and think Well, this is what we got now.
They're making the same fricking mistake all over again.
Dak has to get done first because he’s sucking up 50 million of the cap.Why do they have to fall? You can get the cap room now. You claim to know what the cap will be in the future. It's not that complicated.
Trey Lance’s $5M cap hit is the difference for a Derrick Henry.I'm all for not paying RBs. Totally ok with me. But if you go that route, you have to draft RBs. Sure don't pay them. Makes perfect sense to me. Most of the RBs that get paid fall off a cliff shortly after. Miles Sanders is a perfect example. Dude got paid, went from 4.9 ypc to 3.3 ypc. Zeke got paid, and quickly fell off a cliff. My guess is Pollard isn't going to be that great this year either. But the important part is, if you know these guys fall off a cliff 4 or 5 years into their NFL careers, then just draft guys every 3 or 4 years and cycle them through. But you have to draft real RBs. Not guys that are height/weight/speed and not production, or the opposite in Deuce who has shit height/weight/speed but production off the charts. Maybe that means you have to use a third or fourth to get the next Demarco Murray or Tony Pollard. But you can't just abandon the position all together like it doesn't matter. Those guys still matter.
Son of the great Robert Jones.
Because he raped us in that game two years ago and Jerry never forgot? Why?
