I don't know how to put this nicely, but that is exactly what Jerry wants you to believe and say. That is the precise argument he would make to justify his penny-pinching approach to "winning at all costs."Kelce isn't paid anywhere near elite. He takes less to win.
It is basically destroys your chance for championships when you have to pay fakes like Dak Prescott 60 million per year and the elite WR wants 30 something as well. You think Tyler Smith won't want paid too? All pro already. I'd rather invest in the OL than give Dak fucking Prescott anywhere near 60.

You need to separate the issues. You don't like Dak/think he isn't elite/can't win the big one and don't want to pay him for that reason = fine. There is more than enough evidence to support this position.
The argument that paying Dak (or any player) X$ will prevent us from spending money on the other positions necessary to win a championship = bullshit.
The cap is not real in any meaningful way, and this is just the "pie" argument that Jerry and Stephen love to make, rather than doing their jobs and spending money to build a championship contending team.
So if you love Jerry and believe he's figured this NFL/GM/salary cap thing out, make his "can't spend too much/cripple the team/just so much pie to go around" argument.
On the other hand, if the argument is being made by the guy responsible for three decades (the longest stretch in franchise history) of undisputed failure and year-in/year-out being among the lowest spending teams in the NFL, you should allow for the possibility that he may be wrong.
post 'you like that!' Cousins?Be nice. He's had Heinicke, Wentz and Beardy Boy throwing him passes.
It's not that bad, even now, they're just idiots that never learn.
Yeah it's not really a mess. Parsons isn't even up for a contract for 2 more years. But yes, we need to be proactive on contracts as opposed to thinking deadlines make deals. They don't. Not when the deadline is free agency and the player can cash in.I wouldn't call it a mess, but gotta drive clicks I guess. But yeah, the situation is entirely manufactured by the team. They could pay them all and more right now if they were willing to spend the money.
It's like they purposely set it up to put themselves over a barrel. Just incredible.Yeah, Prescott’s contract looks like an albatross and then you see Mahomes. This is more of a problem how our cap geniuses laid out the contract. It was set up to be a burden.
Would Prescott have taken a 10/450 contract like Mahomes? Anybody's guess but it's either him being greedy, the FO being morons (likely) or both.

The Joneses would probably blame the agent for being greedy.Would Prescott have taken a 10/450 contract like Mahomes? Anybody's guess but it's either him being greedy, the FO being morons (likely) or both.
The Joneses could have gotten Dak done the year before for a ton less than they would up paying I think the numbers thrown around were 25-30 million. They tried to sweat the player and any loyalty he had went out the window and was able to F them over. That 60 million number is their own damn fault, as is the circumstance they find themselves in. They'll do the same thing over and again because of Jerry and his "Deadlines make deals" bullsh.
