I don’t understand the Schoonmaker selection that early, especially at the likely expense of a potential staring RB. I think Schoonmaker is a nice all around TE, but he’s much more of a 4th-5th round guy than a 3rd.

I'm not a fan of keeping Tyron around. Love the guy, love all that he has done but at his age and level of likelihood of injury I can't keep him around to be my LT.
My thoughts exactly. He's on an affordable contract so I'd look to trade him.

If they're looking for skill positions in the 2nd - 3rd round range, I hope it's for a WR. The WR cupboard was pretty bare last season. We shouldn't just assume Gallup is going to bounce back to his pre-ACL form.

I'm afraid the Tolbert thing will scare them off. Like well, that didn't work last year. We don't need more Tolberts. But that's stupid, you miss sometimes. It happens, do better this time. If you miss out in the first don't just give up and sign someone like Beckham. Use the 10 mil that you would use on him to sign someone like Bobby Wagner. A guy you know will give you probowl level play.

The Cowboys get gun shy but not every pick in the third round is going to work out. Just keep trying.

This is exactly what I think they'll end up doing.

In their eyes he's more of a sure thing than a rookie. Added bonus....he's marketable.

The problem is he really isn't sure thing. Not even sure anyone has seen the guy run a route at full speed since the Superbowl over a year ago. He was becoming injury prone before that. It's been a really long time since he was a legit 1000 yard receiver. The guy is a bigger unknown than a rookie at this point.

I'm really afraid this will happen. And that it will be a disaster.

Main thing is we need someone with pride who's going to step up in big games. We don't need him to beat the average teams out there, we need to close the gap from 12-5 to 14-3 or better.

Beckham might actually be that guy, at the right price.

I agree with this point, but I don't think OBJ fits that label.

OBJ already has a ring and he's had a big pay day as well. I just don't see him giving it his all at this stage of his career; especially coming off a major injury. The guy will likely be a walking 'business decision' next season.

He doesn't even value regular season games.

If you listened to Goof Son today, he was simply beaming about having the 2nd most RS wins in the past two years only behind the Chiefs.

Beckham's attitude should turn him off.

And in no way am I undervaluing “regular” games… being a pro in those games is table stakes.

We had better be drafting OL,RB,WR,QB and not in that order. There had better be a qb taken in the first three or four rounds. Zeke is done and adding another weapon at WR,RB is a must. I just don’t see us winning with Dak leading the league in turnovers. Drafting OL and running the ball is the only way I see us winning with Dak. Build on the line and draft a RB in the mid rounds. A QB wouldn’t hurt either in the first four rounds. The Eagles have the better QB,WRs,Oline. We had better learn to run the ball and limit the turnovers.

Goof Son scoffs at most of your ultimatums.

Drafting the lines and stockpiling picks via trades is the only way I see us winning anything. Hopefully, we make some smart trades in the draft and pickup extra picks. We need to follow the 49ers model and load up on the lines and with anything extra figure out how to generate some easy yards running over people. I just don’t see us throwing all over the yard with Dak turning the ball over at such a high rate. We need a badass oline and badass dline if we want to win.

We have been following the same team together for a while, right?

Do you honestly think we will do these things?

First of all, we ain't trading shit, okay?

Any trade we even try to accomplish has at least a 75% chance of failure.

Stockpiling picks? Are you kidding? We just figured out how the comp picks thing goes and are all into that.

They believe in the draft but they really don't have a lot of confidence of playing the game.

They are basically low risk investors who sit on their fucking money.

Anyways. Have a good day.

Sincerely,

DFDC

Daks never really thrown picks at the rate he did last year. You have to wonder a bit if it had something to do with his lack of viable targets.
