Yes, my bad. And that was his best season completion % wise, TD wise, Int wise. Still playing great, but he turns it over quite a bit when you factor in his fumbles. Had to be near the top on the league this year and he fumbled in the playoffs multiple times and lost one. Dak may have lost maybe 1 fumble all season.

Allen has played great in the playoffs for the most part. This year I didn't think so. He's only 26. Long way to go. But when you're the preseason favorite to win the Super Bowl you have to get farther than the divisional round and a blowout loss at home.

AFC is only getting harder. Mahomes, Burrow, Herbert, Lawrence, Jackson. Playoff games against these QB's the next 5-10 years are going to be tough.
I'd trade Dak and two 1's for Allen tomorrow, so there's that. Just because he has a much tougher road in the AFC than Dak has in the NFC doesn't mean he isn't a much better QB.

Radio says Maher was pre-game practicing FGs on the 49ers half of the field, precipitating Deebo Samuel and Trent Williams to interfere.

With Payton looking likely to go to Denver it seems very probable that Quinn is back next year.

Barring major injuries we should be a top 3ish team in the NFC again, so we're going to get all the answers we need on Dak in the next year or two.

No bigger Dak supporter on this board than me, and I think I am done with him. Hurts my heart to say so, but he was the biggest reason we lost last night.
He stunk yesterday. No doubt. I look at it like this. You have to play well against the real good defenses like SF. And those are his worst 2 playoff games. He played pretty well the other 4.

If you expect him or many QB's for that matter to go into SF in the playoffs with that wind blowing around and put up 350 yards and 4 TD's that's rarely going to happen. You're just looking for him to manage the game, not turn it over, etc. And he didn't do it.

I'm not going to overreact to 2 subpar games against the 49ers in the playoffs when he's played well in the playoffs in other games. Of course he needs to get over this hump here soon. I'm not giving up on him...yet.

"Not giving up on him yet" is basically where I'm at, although if someone I thought was a stud QB prospect was falling in the draft I'd definitely be looking to make a move (our FO won't of course).

Next year should be more of the same in terms of the NFC landscape with no truly dominant team and middling QB's, but the sand in the hourglass is running out quick with performances like yesterday.

Literally every GM would take Allen (flaws and all) over Dak, so I'm not sure where this is going.
Well, yeah, but Dak plus two 1s? I think not.

How about winning a friggin division round game?
He hasn't yet. Doesn't mean he won't. You guys are all so damaged by these 25 years. This story isn't over yet. It's getting there, but a little bit to go.

I don't get why this is 100% on one player. There's great defenses out there. SF is one of them, if not the best. Our D played amazing for 3 quarters, but it's a 4 quarter game.

That's it in a nutshell. He has probably 2 years left to prove it. It's tough because you'd like to use your high picks to help the team get over the hump now.

Which brings me to our 3rd round pick this year. Hate to have your 3rd rounder give you absolutely nothing in year 1 in a position of need. Not good. What are the chances Tolbert takes a leap next season?

Of course. Point is neither has been to a Super Bowl and that it's very difficult to get there. One has been preseason favorite to go to Super Bowl and couldn't get out of division round. He's a season or 2 from being the guy who can't get you over the hump even at 26.

But you're talking about how hard it is to win a super bowl. We haven't even won a division round. You can't compare him to guys like elway and Marino struggling to win super bowls because Dak isn't even to the "winning a division round" point yet. It's silly to compare Dak struggling to win in the division round to how hard it is for all timers to win a Superbowl.
